I spent Sunday at the second Wisconsin Elite Camp at the Badgers' practice facility connected to the Kohl Center. Most of the kids at the camp were middle schoolers about to get to high school or younger, with one or two kids heading into their sophomore seasons in High School. Today and tomorrow, we'll highlight a few kids who had a standout camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='914983' first='Beanie' last='Thompson']

A part of the reigning D3 WIAA champion Edgewood Crusaders, Thompson is the epitome of toughness. The last two times I've seen her play, she's bled from her arm or head and went back on the floor as soon as possible. Nothing seems to bother her. All she wants to do is win games and doesn't care about stats or scoring. Thompson will put her well-being on the line if it gives her team a chance to win a game. It's hard not to love watching her play.

[player_tooltip player_id='874401' first='Farrah' last='Danforth']

The future Neenah Rocket shot the ball well from the three-point line. She's a 5'11 wing who can space the floor, attack off the dribble, and finish around the basket in creative ways. Danforth is one we won't see at the high school level for a little while because she's in the class of 2029, but she has a chance to be a prominent figure at Neenah once she gets to high school and add to some of the pieces they'll have over there.

[player_tooltip player_id='892249' first='Morgan' last='Mocadlo']

If there's one thing that Mocadlo's do, it's fly around the floor. Morgan is an incoming freshman at Hortonville and could see varsity minutes depending on how things play out for the Polar Bears. She has the passion to get better and made some plays against some of the best players at the camp. I thought Mocadlo shot the ball well when the future Polar Bear found some open spots to get her shots off. Mocadlo's still young, so she has plenty of room to grow, but there is plenty to like about her game.

Ahmani Crump

I loved Crump's competitiveness on the defensive end of the floor. She had a quick first step and did an excellent job guarding ball handlers at the point of attack. She created live ball turnovers and easy transition points because of how flustered she can make opposing ball handlers. I loved the energy she brought to the floor, and her teammates loved having her on their team, which is impressive considering that most of them probably have never met each other before. Smaller guards need an edge to compete, as Crump did, and she was fun to watch because of that.
