The Hortonville guard is a hard-nosed player who’s taken every opportunity she’s had and run with it. No matter how she’s found her way on the floor at the high school level, she’s never been afraid of competition. Now that she’s maturing as a player, she’s starting to emerge as one of the better guards in the Fox Valley. Mocadlo is a player who will help her team win on the margins and do everything possible to win games.

Great defense seems to run in her family! Her sister was a two-time All Defensive selection, in the FVA, and Morgan seems primed to follow in her footsteps. She impressed me with her overall effort level, on both ends, and never quit attitude. A great example of this was on one occasion she didn’t give up on a play hustling back to take away an easy fast break layup in a tight game.

Sometimes, you must be lucky to get an opportunity, and Mocadlo was this season. Injuries to Hortonville’s two starting opened up a significant void that Mocadlo earned the time she got in their absence, and I thought she did an excellent job with what the Polar Bears had at the time. The newcomer showed she could make some things happen with the ball in her hands and didn’t shy away from anything once she got on the floor. There is still plenty of physical and mental growth for her in these next few years, but the competitiveness is there, which will help her maximize what she can be in the always-challenging Fox Valley Association.
