Skilled post players are hard to find, but Howard has shown this summer that there are things to work on within her game. She's a physical kid who rebounds her area and finishes around the basket. I've liked how her free throws have looked when at the line, and she has some touch from the charity stripe. There is still plenty of room to grow her skill set, but anyone looking for a post at the small-school level should watch her play if they can.

Engel isn't the most heralded member of Laconia's back-to-back state championship teams, but her role in those games is more crucial than you'd probably think. Engel has played prominent roles in each of Laconia's previous three trips to the title game, but none more than last season. She shot three for eight from the floor, by far the best when their offense struggled, and hit two massive three-pointers. Engel was the second-leading scorer for a team in a state title win, which not many kids can say. However, her ability to rebound, run in transition, defend multiple positions, and compete with some of the top players in the state make her an intriguing kid in 2025.

The Wisconsin Lutheran guard has a knack for making things work. No matter where I see her play, she manages to get the best out of herself and the people around her on the floor. She can spot up from the three-point line or attack the basket off the dribble. I love her level of engagement on the defensive end of the floor and how well she manages to force live-ball turnovers. Frey may not jump off the page if you watch her one time, but you appreciate what she does the more you watch her play. She's uber-consistent.

Everyone loves having a hard-nosed guard on their roster, and Benetti's one of them. She always has this confident aura, no matter who she's lining up against. I don't think anything can rattle her. She seeks out challenges head-on and embraces the physicality that the game allows. If she plays at the next level, Benetti will be someone opposing teams hate playing against.
