The Expo in Louisiana was an introduction to talent all across the Boot. Many of the girls that participated in this showcase were some of the best in Louisiana. While there were known names like Amijah Price (Woodlawn-BR) and Asia Patin (Southern Lab), there were others introducing themselves. These other young ladies obtained exposure while playing against teammates and opponents. Outside of the top performers, there were some other young ladies that showcased their talents well. In this review of The Expo, we will look at some of the other names to know from this showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='489584' first='Urijah' last='Carmouche'] (5'2" | Southside)

Carmouche played with other guards in 3x3 and had trouble adjusting a little bit. During 5-on-5, she made the most of her opportunities. From behind the arc, she displayed her shooting prowess nailing a couple of threes. Being a point guard, she also made passes that got other players buckets. Southside has a bonafide shooter in their program who only makes players better.

Jaelynn Elliott (5'6" | Salmen)

Elliott found 5-on-5 dsiplayed her best attributes at The Expo. She picked up ball-handling responsibilities along with some spot up situations during game play. Both skills showed that she is very capable with the dribble and can make open jumpers. With her offense going, her defense elevated. Elliott is a "three & D" player who is only going to get better in her junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='947901' first='Jamie' last='Hunter'] (5'8" | Richwood)

Hunter is a player who gave her team everything she had on both ends of the floor during her day in Baton Rouge. Jamie was able to guard multiple positions from perimeter to post with great lateral movement. Her mid-range jumper found the mark and she showed finishing ability in transition. She proved to be an able rebounder also. Hunter showed her mettle both ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='974208' first='Da'Zya' last='Johnson'] (6'0" | Lakeview)

Johnson, the post from Lakeview, was another player at The Expo who proved she is a very good talent. She is a player who knows how to post up effectively. Johnson made herself available and gave a good target when she was on the block. Johnson had a couple of instances where she stepped out on the perimeter as well. Her post up game and finishing around the rim made her a tough cover on the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='943335' first='Kendal' last='Thomas'] (5'5" | Salmen)

The Salmen sophomore was one of the better defenders on the floor in Baton Rouge. Thomas showed great anticipation and her ability to play the passing lanes was an asset for her team. She allowed them to get into transition and even filled the lane to finish a few layups as well. While her defense may be ahead of her offense, what Kendal showed at The Expo has high ceiling written all over it.

The Expo: Louisiana was a good exposure event for the girls who participated and the boys who followed. The participants in this event will only be helped by the competition they faced. Hopefully we will see these young ladies at other camps and showcases during this period on the calendar.
