Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at a group of players who know how to wheel and deal in the low post. I was impressed with them when I watched them during the summer during grassroots play and the June team camps.

Jaelyn May (Lee's Summit North): A 6'3" 2026 forward who had a strong summer while playing for the MoKan Elite 16U team. She is an old-school back to the basket player who knows how to handle business in the low post. She establishes her position well and can move people around like furniture. She catches the ball well in traffic and is a good finisher. She is also a very good passer out of the post when she sees a double team. She is primed to have a big junior season at Lee's Summit North.

[player_tooltip player_id='630887' first='Libby' last='Fanning'] (College Heights): The 6'0" 2025 forward is one of the best low-post technicians to watch in the state. Whenever I get to the Run 4 Roses, I make it a point to find out when her J&E Elite teams plays so I can see her play at least once. Not only does she have the skills, but she has all the little nuances that make her effective against any defender. She has good footwork and a nice shooting touch around the basket. She also screens well and can also pass the ball to hit open cutters from the high post.

[player_tooltip player_id='457472' first='Sophia' last='Otten'] (Incarnate Word Academy): A 6'2" 2025 forward who had a strong summer for Phee Elite (Wilkinson) and has received plenty of Division II interest. She is very strong in the low post with her ability to establish position and finish. She works hard for rebounding position and I like the way she sets screens.

[player_tooltip player_id='302389' first='Taelyn' last='Smith'] (Notre Dame de Sion): A 5'11 forward who followed up her good junior year with a strong summer with MoKan Select. She is a versatile post player who can get things done inside and on the perimeter. She has a good blend of strength and finesse in her game that makes her a tough matchup.

[player_tooltip player_id='634033' first='Ava' last='McCulla'] (Parkway South): A 6'2 forward who played for Phee Elite's very strong 17U team. She had a very good performance in a championship game in Louisville that I watched. She came into the game to provide some instant inside scoring and very good offensive rebounding.

Jozlynn Brown (Brunswick): A 6'1 2026 forward who I have been tracking since her freshman year at Salisbury. She has good length and mobility and she really excels as a rebounder. She keeps the ball high with good fundamentals. She should be a force at Class 1 this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='741583' first='Ava' last='Graham'] (North Nodaway): A 6'0 2026 post player who is really good at scoring around the basket with her opposite hand, which is her left hand. She can score against single and double teams. She also does a nice job of rebounding out of her area. She is one of the top post players in Class 1.
