6A: 3 Games to Circle on Your Calendar

The game will be played at Copper Hills and it should be a good one.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#1 vs #2</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In our Fall Rankings they are 1 and 2 in 6A and in the Top 25. She is a serviceable player when it comes to a catch and go. She has a perimeter game but is best when she attacks. She is among one of the toughest guards in the state. She is a guard with a really good motor. She is a player that uses her two way ability to impact the game. She has looked sharp and she is moving well, especially handling the ball. Then you throw in a few young players like [player_tooltip player_id='873282' first='Charli' last='Warner'] and Maddie Pope that could not only help this team right away but also make an impact that will stay with them for years to come. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='849040' first='Lave' last='Holdcraft'] is a player that plays with a big motor and if she is on she is a game changer. [player_tooltip player_id='819666' first='Katy' last='Lawrence'] is similar in the regard that she could really get things going with her attacking and shooting. [player_tooltip player_id='796473' first='Zuri' last='Nordstrom'] brings a lot of experience back and shot making ability. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Bountiful</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team will be heavy with two players that they can't afford to keep out too long. [player_tooltip player_id='796795' first='Milika' last='Satuala'] and [player_tooltip player_id='788162' first='Taylor' last='Harvey'] are one of the best duo's in the state and they both do so much. They can both bring the ball up, they can both do work in the post and they both play the right way. These two are next level athletes that will play on a D1 roster. [player_tooltip player_id='827404' first='Maleah' last='Nelson'] has been great shooting the ball but this spring and summer she really sharpened her PG skills. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Overview:</strong> This could be a toss-up game. Bountiful brings back more than you think. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Mountain Ridge vs. Westlake</strong> (12/19/24)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Both teams feature some of the best young guards in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Mountain Ridge</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team could be undefeated heading into this game and they will be lead by [player_tooltip player_id='790536' first='Kya' last='Newton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='796847' first='Jessica' last='Maynard']. Newton is a High IQ player with a solid motor. She is always active and can get open with her quickness. Maynard is a very unassuming player that finishes around the rim and just does a lot of the dirty work inside. MR has been getting solid contributions from [player_tooltip player_id='805789' first='Cailin' last='Kehl'] and [player_tooltip player_id='805788' first='Kaylee' last='Montgomery']. They have also seen improvement from [player_tooltip player_id='866703' first='Jada' last='Jangard']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Westlake </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Thunder will need much more scoring from two young players. [player_tooltip player_id='796499' first='Janiece' last='Sikander'] and [player_tooltip player_id='796479' first='Avery' last='Thompson'] both need to likely double their production in the scoring column but this game should be a really interesting guard matchup. If Sikander can get others involved they should be in good shape.
