Like the past few days, we're looking at another team from the 5v5 portion of the PGH Freshman Showcase. Today, we're moving on to Team Four, and everyone I had notes on from that team last Sunday.

The aggression that Cabrera played with was noticeable. I loved how direct she was when she wanted to attack the rim. She had enough speed to turn the corner when she wanted and showed her ability to finish through contact. Cabrera's athleticism allowed her to beat opponents off the dribble and get by them using her first step. I also noted how aggressive of a passer she was and how she wanted to pass through some passes through small windows if the reward for her team would be a layup. She'll be another young piece for a Franklin team to build with over the next few seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='881134' first='Emma' last='Trautsch']

The Stoughton guard shot the ball well in the game I watched her play. She didn't need to have the ball to be herself. I thought she moved the ball well, and it never stuck too much with her five-person lineups when she was on the court. Even though she spaced the floor in most of the minutes I watched her play, Trautsch did show an ability to get downhill at times. She'll be a productive off-ball guard for the Vikings once she gets into the rotation at Stoughton.

[player_tooltip player_id='992510' first='Mikayla' last='McQueeney']

There weren't many kids smaller than McQueeney in Appleton last Sunday, but few people found the ball like she did. Her ability to make positive plays was uncanny. She's fundamentally sound but flies all over the floor. On the offensive end, the Silver Eagle found a lot of junky points by making hustle plays and finding her way to loose balls. On the offensive end, McQueeney showed flashes of her ability to get by defenders, which forced them to foul her at the rim. If she can get to the line and generate easy points, she'll find a way to contribute at some point at Monona Grove, and could this season with all the talent they lost in their senior class last spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='932119' first='Mya' last='Mayer']

Sometimes, it's challenging for posts to stand out in a showcase setting, where guards run the show. However, Mayer was one of the two posts that stood out on Sunday. Mayer's a physical 5'11 kid with excellent touch around the rim. I thought she moved well without the ball and got into excellent position when she went to seal her defender. She didn't get rewarded for that work with getting the ball, but the work she put in shows she knows what Mayer's doing as a post and that she's well-coached. Mayer isn't the prototypical type of player that comes into Kettle Moraine Lutheran, but I loved her skillset around the rim.
