When you think of Alamogordo basketball, [player_tooltip player_id='642714' first='Teeya' last='Gordon'] naturally comes to mind. That said, junior [player_tooltip player_id='889713' first='Elizabeth' last='Needham'] is another name to keep an eye on. She arguably played her best game of the two-day showcase on Sunday against Americas High School. Americas is arguably the best program in El Paso and Needham was pivotal in keeping the Tigers competitive in a closely contested loss. She had double-digit rebounds, with plenty coming on the offensive end, resulting in tip-ins and second-chance points for the Tigers. Her length and ability to crash the boards were impressive all game long and will serve Alamogordo once their season officially kicks off.

Regardless of the result or box score stats, Danae Gonzalez always brings a high level of intensity and effort when she is on the court. On Day 2, she once again brought that trademark intensity and effort but she also showcased some of her excellent shot-making and playmaking. The perimeter shot-making was on display against West Texas Prep in the morning session and in the afternoon against Centennial. Lastly, there wasn't a prospect who hit the floor more than Gonzalez, whether that be diving for a loose ball or fighting in the trenches for rebounds. The Burges prospect was everywhere for the Mustangs.

One of the top interior forwards was in attendance at The Jamboree in [player_tooltip player_id='642722' first='Joy' last='Hunt'], and she found her footing on Day 2. The Centennial senior was much more clinical with her finishing and post touches in general on Sunday, helping her team in some closely contested battles against the top El Paso competition. Hunt proved to be an effective mismatch in both games against Montwood in the morning session and Burges in the afternoon.

In one of the most competitive games all weekend, Mary Brooks showed why she is one of the top returning 2-guards in El Paso. She helped put Americas out in front with some corner threes where she proved to be pretty lethal and efficient from all weekend. That said, when her shot wasn't falling she made up for it on defense by racking up steals and playing soundly within the Blazer's 2-3 zone.

Another prospect who found her footing on Day 2 was Mia Delgado out of Pebble Hills, representing West Texas Prep for the weekend. Although listed as a power forward, Delgado showcased some of her perimeter scoring talent with some long-range 3-pointers and general fluency playing out in transition. She's one of the top prospects in the class of 2027 and the upside is obvious to see in person.

If there is one thing Jocelynn Custard is not lacking it is confidence. Specifically, the Montwood junior will take just about any shot you can think of, whether that be out on the perimeter or driving to the hoop, she doesn't limit herself. Additionally, her effort was unquestionable on Day 2 as she repeatedly put her body on the line game after game. Her hustle and effort were on full display.
