One thing that has remained constant since I started covering girl's basketball in Texas over 15 years ago, yeah I was the first, and that would be energy and excitement, off the top, gets my adrenaline going. I have multiple articles to drop from my opening-day coverage, I wasn't there on Sunday, so let me get the ball rolling and see where it stops bouncing

Riley showed at a very young age what she could do and expect her to make a tremendous jump in the rankings on my next update. I hadn't seen her in almost two seasons and "jump" is a key word because her jumper was clicking as she set the defender up nicely to not only get her shot off and drop it but also score or dish off the dribble

Reynolds is in the database yet I don't recall seeing her but guess what, she left a lasting impression and that's huge. She's an athletic guard who uses her athleticism on both ends of the court and her "on the ball" pressure immediately grabbed my attention because it helped to create turnovers. Her first step caused some problems as she attacked the basket off the dribble and finished after contact, solid body control on her finishes

Roberts has made an immediate impact with her new school yet that doesn't surprise me because she's one of the top unknown guards in her class. I have so many colors by her name that I could make a flag yet defenders need a red flag to help stop her because she's explosive off the dribble and her powerful finishes after contact were nice. She also rebounded and saw the floor in transition as well as in the set plus her defense was solid

Cooper grabbed my attention last season see evaluation here so I guess I can't use the "AC" line again other than adding "freon" has been refilled. She falls into that #sizedontmatter category and she gave them a tremendous boost with her energy, on both ends, as well as dropping the jumper, "catch and shoot" from deep included. She also scored off the dribble and played solid defense

Conway sold me last season as I briefly saw her last year see evaluation here and my exact words were "with a scary upside". The transition to high school basketball isn't as simple as many would think yet she's figured it out quickly and her coming from out of nowhere to block shots had me smiling. She's long and athletic, which is the base, and her timing, defense, and rebounding stood out for most of the game yet down the stretch, she took over offensively to help lead her squad to victory
