We're continuing the breakdown of each team from the Freshman Showcase last weekend, and today we're onto Team Three. Let's highlight what each kid did well in Appleton on Sunday.

Another guard who'll join the Kettle Moraine program, [player_tooltip player_id='992480' first='Alexa' last='Darin'], was fundamentally sound. Her footwork around the basket was solid, and she utilized her pivot foot under the basket to score around posts around the basket. I also loved that she was willing to finish with both hands around the basket. The other thing that impressed me was how well she cut from the perimeter. Darin got open away from the ball, and in a program that has had talented lead guards for a while, that'll help her excel when she finds her way into a varsity rotation, whenever that may be.

[player_tooltip player_id='992516' first='Tayla' last='Boyer']

The No. 1 thing that stands out in showcases is who passes the ball. Boyer was a willing passer and rarely made mistakes with the ball. I thought she got to the basket well and didn't shy away from contact. There's also a toughness to her game that showed in some of the hustle plays Boyer made in a game that didn't count for anything. Coaches will adore when she gets to Muskego.

[player_tooltip player_id='890055' first='Jayda' last='King']

The Racine St. Catherine's wing was one of the most impressive kids at the event. I hadn't seen King play before the event, but she stood out soon after I sat down and saw her play a few possessions of 3x3. She's a 5'10 wing who can handle the ball and use her physicality to her advantage around the basket. King flew up and down the floor and was one of the top rebounders that I saw in Appleton. I'd imagine she'll have a prominent role for the Angels this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='892938' first='Kinsley' last='Venden']

There will likely be days where Venden catches a rhythm and knocks down shots in bunches. She has plenty of confidence in her shots and never gets too high or low if shots fall or don't. I thought she did an excellent job creating shots off the dribble and finding space for her shots. She didn't do anything too flashy to get to her spots and seemed to know what she wanted to do when the ball got to her. The lefty will be one of the more intriguing kids in the Capitol Conference next season. I wouldn't be surprised if she won the Cardinals a game or two.
