We have two more days of articles left to recap the PGH Freshman Showcase. Today, we're looking at Team Nine and notes I have on the players on that team. I hope you enjoy it!

Another Pewaukee Pirate who made the trip to Appleton was [player_tooltip player_id='991331' first='Bridget' last='Collar']. The 5'10 wing was a physical kid who wanted to use her power to go through opponents and did an excellent job. Her strength was prominent in her game when she got the ball on the perimeter and into the paint. Like I've said about other young Pirates, we'll see their path to getting playing time over the next few years, but they're all names to keep in mind.

[player_tooltip player_id='884601' first='Ava' last='Calhoon']

The 5v5 portion of the event ended proceedings in Appleton, and Team Nine was the last team I saw play at the event. However, I was impressed with how much energy she played with after playing five 3v3 and 5v5 games that day. Her ability to generate extra possessions was evident from start to finish, and her ability to create extra possessions on the defensive end of the floor was impressive. Calhoon's activity on the defensive end will be why she earns playing time at Freedom whenever that happens, but I was impressed by what she did in Appleton. She may not be a big box score kid, but she'll play minutes at Freedom over the next four years.

[player_tooltip player_id='992484' first='Ambria' last='Fischer']

Another undersized guard who rebounded the ball well was [player_tooltip player_id='992484' first='Ambria' last='Fischer']. The future Appleton East Patriot was involved in every aspect of the game. She handled the ball well as a lead guard and was one of the most trustworthy kids I saw as a decision-maker. Fischer didn't make many mistakes with the ball and was still aggressive. She got downhill well and finished well around the rim. The Patriot isn't flashy but is someone you can give the ball to and expect that she'll make decisions that'll lead to productive possessions most of the time.

[player_tooltip player_id='992505' first='Libby' last='Bartz']

The Hudson wing wasn't at the event, but I wanted to highlight her briefly. Bartz will be a prominent figure at Hudson these next four years because she's a 5'11 wing who can do a little of everything.
