It's your last ride competing on the high school level, last opportunity to compete with friends, and it's really the fear of the unknown. However, seniors, you have earned the right to feel like this as you have put in the work and time over the last four years. It doesn't mean it's the end per se, but embrace the moment as not only are your teammates looking towards you for leadership, but giving it your best one last ride is something I would think you would want to do for your school community.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I can remember my senior year. It was fun. Big dog on campus. I wasn't cocky or anything, but I knew that once I hit the floor, I was ready to compete and give it my all. I had the mentality I was going to go out there and dominate. A) I wasn't allowing any underclassman to come in and take my spot. B) I was going to make sure that on my last ride, I was going to bring it to all my opponents, especially my rivals. I mean hello, we got braggin rights at stake. Where I am from, people don't live moments like that down. Even with all these years gone by, still people remember things and bring them up when they see me. So yeah seniors, be prepared for things to come up in your lifetime such as that.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The reason for this article is to highlight some deserving student-athletes who are gearing up for their last run. I know that there are still uncovered gems out there from the class of 2025. I mean the state is rather large and when you have over 350+ schools and thousands of ballplayers, things can get tough. However, PGH Tennessee works tirelessly to uncover and scout kids, so 25s we see you and are going to give you your flowers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hats off to you 25s. Not only for a job well done for just carrying on the legacy many before you set. They blazed the trail, you followed their footsteps, and now you have done that plus more and others will follow in your footsteps.&nbsp; November 4th will be here before you know it (for those who don't know, it's the first official day of practice.) This kid is a scoring threat that can fill it up from multiple spots on the floor, however she is a tireless worker on the defensive end. She's poised to have an awesome last run. A mutl-sport kid, she's a tough competitor who is physical and consistent in what she does. She moves well, using her body to get to preferred spots on the floor, where she can finish, leaving opponents in her rearview. On D, she uses her length to block shots, grab boards, and spring in transition for easy buckets. Her athleticism goes unnoticed as she picks her spots to exploit an opponent's weakness. For one, she can fill it up, but what I like about her the most is her ability to efficiently run an offensive system. This kid is a scrappy ball player who gets it done on both ends of the floor. She has been battle tested and has grown each and every time she has stepped onto the floor. No matter the setting, travel ball near or far, this kid comes into a game ready to be impactful. Look for her to come into this final season ready to continue the success she has had over the course of her high school career. She can pull it from the arc, finish at the rim, she is going to go out and get you double figures in the scoring column pretty much nightly. Check the box scores, she contributes in other statistical categories as well. Has received a lot of interest as of late and this kid is always in the gym getting better. A solid contributor for her HS program, she's looking to come in and be that leading catalyst not to score, but provide that leadership/spark plug for her team. This kid just loves to compete and it doesn't matter the venue, she's going to show up and show out.
