We have about a week of content from the Top 250 event in Appleton this past weekend, so let's start with Team One today.

I've known of Maves for a few years and had a rough idea of what to expect from her. The Evansville native is a physical guard who can get to the basket and play through contact well. She's also a solid perimeter threat and proved as much last Sunday. Maves can space the floor well beyond the three-point line and possess the lower body strength to consistently have the same shot while playing every minute in a game. She'll have the keys to the Evansville offense this season.

The Baraboo native did a solid job attacking the basket off the dribble. She had a clear goal of getting downhill towards the basket as much as possible, and she succeeded. She never backed away from contact and took a few hard spills for her troubles. On the defensive end, she had active hands in the game I saw her play. Sperl was a disruptive defensive guard and earned a few on-ball steals throughout the day. I was impressed by what she did.

In showcase events without structure on the floor, players have to figure out how to find roles quickly, and Streblow did that. I thought the Plymouth native did an excellent job moving the ball and rebounding well for being someone mainly on the perimeter. She was also trustworthy when the ball got to her. Streblow rarely made mistakes with the ball and allowed her teammates who needed the ball to stay engaged to do their thing while she did her work away from the ball. I thought she was a solid teammate and someone people would like to play with.

Effort stands out in person more so than on film, so even though I've seen Hildebrand before, watching her fly around the floor in Appleton was an intriguing experience. Grafton will be full of kids like Hildebrand this season and possibly fill a role for the Blackhawks because of her style of play. She also showed that she could step outside and be a threat to knock down shots on the perimeter. Her play style will help her team win games over the next few years and possibly be a kid who helps solidify the new era of Grafton basketball's identity.
