5 Key RIIL Forwards To Know This Season

The Rhode Island Interscholastic League consists of about 60 schools from the Greater Rhode Island area. Last week the schools in the conference were able to host their first official live practices. With this time of the year marking the formal start of the season, this is the ideal moment to discuss some of the top talent. Below are 5 valuable forwards from the RIIL. [player_tooltip player_id='483913' first='Lauren' last='Bousquet'] (2026) | 5'10 PF | Moses Brown   Lauren is coming into the season as the #12 player in the region for her class. She's a fantastic finisher and shows terrific creation skills from the mid-post areas as well as down low. Typically, power forwards are fed their points, but Bousquet carves her own shots out. Bousquet is very skilled; she uses a ton of head-fakes and exercises patience when in the lane. She moves at her own speed, rarely ever getting sped up from defenders crowding her. Lauren plays solid defense too. She uses her strength to her advantage and can guard multiple positions.   The Moses Brown junior is set to have another major year.     Lilly Dasilveria (2026) | PF | Mt. Hope   A very hardworking big that sets screens for others, hustles to loose-balls, rebounds and knocks down shots consistently from the outside. She works well with just about any skillset from teammates. DaSilveria does all the little things; she boxes out well and is looked at as a backline leader on defense. Her commanding efforts make her skills easily translatable, especially on the defensive end. Lilly can guard forwards or centers and isn't prone to fouling much.   The Mt. Hope junior had a good offseason and that should carry over to the season.     [player_tooltip player_id='364179' first='Vanessa' last='Piscione'] (2025) | 5'9 Forward | St. Raphael   There's a little magic in Piscione's game. She frequently makes daring plays that aren't easily replicated. Vanessa is an underrated talent that's extremely versatile and can play multiple positions efficiently. She can score from just about anywhere and although the athleticism doesn't jump off the page, her offensive are qualities are quite polished. Her passing skills are tremendous; she picks defenses apart, to a large extent because of her cross-court dimes. Vanessa also makes herself available in the halfcourt by diving towards the open space for guards to find her. On defense, she's able to slide to many positions comfortably. Her high IQ allow her to be in the right spots.   Piscione's latest recruiting news is heavy interest from Regis. The senior forward is one to watch this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='865756' first='Saniyya' last='Chase'] (2026) | 5'9 Power Forward | Cranston West   Chase is an athletic forward that's a hard worker. She's a 2-way player that will leave an imprint on the game, even if she isn't scoring much. Saniyya is a consummate teammate; she's frequently filling in where others may need her. She's a winning player that meshes well with others. Chase has a nose for the ball and works for her offensive rebounds. Defensively, there aren't many players that will give more of a concentrated effort. Chase will take on any challenge thrown at her. Her athletic build allows her to guard many positions.   Currently #15 at the position in '26.     [player_tooltip player_id='496131' first='Giada' last='Achille'] (2925) | 5'7 Small Forward | Scituate   The senior forward is decisive attacking offensive player. Giada uses her resourcefulness to score. She has stellar triple threat moves that allow her to get the angle to get by defenders. She's knowledgeable of how defenses work and where the help will come from, so she's able to avoid her lanes being clogged. Achille can shoot the ball and she can do it with range. She gets a very high arch on her 3-pointers, disregarding defenders in her line of vision. The Scituate senior can be a serious stock-riser this season. The game seems to just come to Giada, she never seems to force plays to happen. She takes what's given to her and makes the defense pay.   Achille will make a great addition to whatever program she lands at next year.
