Clarence Johnson Preseason Jamboree: 2025 Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br>Clarence Johnson was a former Mallard Creek coach who was well loved throughout the Charlotte area devoting his time not only to coach but to empower young athletes.  On Saturday, Mallard Creek hosted a preseason jamboree in his name to memorialize the impact he had.  Let's take a look at some of the 2025 standouts from the event.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- at it this season.  She does an excellent job in the press jumping in front of passing lanes to grab the steal, and she can score off the turnover herself or find her teammate cutting to the basket.  Her stroke from around the arc is still efficient knocking down shots all around the perimeter.  She had no problems scoring three points the old fashioned way battling through contacts as she doing a nice job staying in the paint blocking shots and sealing off her opponents for some points.  She had a nice midrange jumper to score, too.  Her rebounding ability was apparent on both ends of continued her streak of stripping the ball away from her opponents to take the other direction for two.  She knows how to find the open lanes getting the passes and scoring through contact for an old well being ready for anything in transition.  She battles in the paint for rebounds on both ends, and she has a nice power dribble that she uses to get her space and score some points.  She did a nice job sealing off her defender to create an opening where she could catch the entry pass and go to work.  She scored well off the dribble and off the pass.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!--
