Team Overview

Middletown comes of a nine-win season, which ties for the fifth most wins in the last 20 years. They also had big wins against solid programs such as Sycamore and Fairfield. Key players return in what looks to be an improved season in a very difficult conference the GMC.

Players to Watch

[player_tooltip player_id='533100' first='Jamia' last='Jones'], 2025

Jamia is a solid 6'4 post who does a very good job anywhere inside the paint. Her coach calls her a "rim protector" and her length allows her to control the action around the basket, with the ability to step out to midrange to score. High-level athleticism and can run the floor. She can be a mismatch problem with her ability to defend on the perimeter with her size.

A'mauria Riep, 2025

Another outstanding athlete who can defend any position on the floor. At 6-foot, her skillset is very good and plays the game smart with good court sense and length which allows her to play both the inside or on the perimeter.

More Names to Know

Bre Gregory, 2025

Expect her to run the show for the Middies from the point guard spot, she can break down the game well and handles her position as a leader. Great court vision and gets her teammates involved.

Leila Johnson, 2025

She adds to what is already a team with good size, she may be listed as a post player but she can play against all five positions. Strong on the boards, does her job well. Loves to play the game fast, runs the floor and just her being in the paint is such an asset for her team.

Player With Breakout Potential

Kenya Benson 2025

This young lady has the skillset to be able to run either guard spot, good handles and the ability to score from the perimeter. Can create her own shot and she is expected by the coaching staff to be one of their offensive leaders this season.

Natalie Highley 2026

On the rise, Natalie is a very efficient stretch-4 as the 6-footer can either score with her back to the basket, or step out on the perimeter and make you pay. Another rim protector and effective rebounder.

Underclassmen To Keep An Eye On

Camille Helvey 2026

Need a big shot? This 5'9 wing will drop them from behind the arc. She also is a very athletic player with good length.

Allie Daniels 2028

Watch this freshman she she continues to grow her game. Allie is a 5'8 combo guard who can get to the rim and finish. An aggressive player who can score.

2024 Schedule/Games to Circle

Fairfield – "We split the victories last season and Fairfield has a mix of returning players and a rising freshman class of talent"- Coach Roe.

Sycamore – "We split the victories last season and they have an influx of talent freshman that will make an immediate impact"- Coach Roe

Notable

Middletown returns 5 four-year varsity players and all 10 players have been in the program for the past 4 years, which includes two of the top 3 rebounders in the GMC and the second leading shot blocker in the conference.
