Rebuilding the Roar: Harding Academy’s Journey to Victory

The Ladies who don the blue and white are ready to get back to their winning ways. During the offseason, this club got after it as kids got better, played travel ball, and bought into the culture coach set before them. Last year was disappointing, finishing 4th in the district, with a 4-6 record. Let's just say the girls knew they were better than this, therefore a reboot this offseason was definitely needed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Led by Coach Malone, it was back to the drawing board as this club set their sights on something greater. Coach knows that there is an opportunity that lies ahead especially with this group. This group gained valuable experience last year. Even though they did come up short some, there were still bright spots within each defeat.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Harding Academy is slated to finish in the middle of the pack, however could easily obtain the top stop in the district. They have the roster to do so, coupled with the talent to get the job done. The girls will need to value each possession, go with the ebbs and flow of the game, don't get too high, and don't get too low. There is some talent amongst the Lady Lions. Young ladies who are ready to breakthrough and let out a mighty roar. This year, will be their year to show their district, their city, and their region what they are all about.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Look for this club to start off strong in a mighty way. A heady ball player who likes to create the tempo of the game. Makes the right reads. This kid can get down hill and finish at favorable spots for her shot. Her offensive game is coming along, however she has superb defense where she locks up the opposition. Long arms and quick feet, she takes away the passing lanes by mirroring the ball well and playing pressure defense. Look for her to have a breakout season and be one of the best in her district. This kid is a tough competitor and shines when the lights come on. Erica uses her athleticism to contribute to the Lady Lions attack in a mighty way. She can put the ball in the hoop from multiple spots, however it's her ability to impact the game in other ways that's really the telling sign of a complete ball player who doesn't mind doing the dirty work. She scores, makes timely assists, gets rebounds on both ends, block shots, gets steals, ect. A complete player who checks all the statistical categories each and every game. On the defensive end, she's a dawg, a kid who can put the opposition in a seatbelt and create chaos. Her ability to defend leads to easy transition buckets heading the other way. Offensively she is a downhill threat, getting to the rim with ease. She attacks gaps like no other, freeing up her teammates for an easy shot attempt or challenging the opposition in the paint. This talented kid is ready for her last ride with her Lady Lions ball club. Note that she isn't  going to leave nothing to chance and leave everything she has on the floor. This kid is hungry and look for her to go at her opponents in a mighty way. Defensively, this kid has reach, it, as she times up and blocks shots of opponents effortlessly. Offensively, she picks her spots to exploit, hit clutch shots from all over the floor. This kid is a gamer and contributes in every facet of the game. Look for this kid to have an exceptional senior year and be a contributor to getting the Lady Lions back on track. <br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
