I really enjoyed watching [player_tooltip player_id='842545' first='Rylee' last='Yager'] play today. She was a positive communicator for her team and didn't seem to tire the entire game. Yager is athletic, disciplined on defense, has good size, and makes smart decisions. She's got good court vision - she showed off a nice spin move and dropped a bounce pass for an easy two, then followed it up by drawing two defenders on a post up and kicking it out for an open three. Later, Yager lost her defender on a smooth crossover and finished a lefty runner. She also hit a few three pointers. Yager proved today that she's a force in all aspects of the game and I predict a strong senior season for the small forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1207158' first='Cara' last='Schiltz'] is a solid role player for the Midgets and does a lot of things right on the floor. She's got a great jumper (and showed it off in buzzer-beater fashion at the end of the third quarter), and I really liked her anticipation on defense. Schiltz has good footwork and a quick first step, and did well to keep the athletic Mount Vernon guards in front of her throughout the game. She also showed off her playmaking ability with a slick spin move and shovel pass to an open teammate for a layup.

[player_tooltip player_id='1055324' first='Hillary' last='Ruschy'] is a gritty competitor for Estherville Lincoln Central. She had the tough assignment of matching up with Mount Vernon's 6'3" center [player_tooltip player_id='1005091' first='Chloe' last='Meester'], and should be applauded for her hard work. She stepped in and stole a few entry passes, double-teamed well on drives (leading to a few turnovers), and boxed out strong in the paint. In addition I think she made good decisions offensively and had a nice lefty finish off of a curl cut on the block. I predict Ruschy will continue to be a dependable piece of ELC's puzzle.

[player_tooltip player_id='311389' first='Haylee' last='Stokes'] is the key to this Estherville Lincoln Central team. Despite nursing a sore ankle, the 5'7" point guard showed her ability to score from anywhere on the floor and defend at a high level. Stokes can finish through contact at the rim, hang in the air for pull up jumpers / stepbacks, get past defenders, and hit deep threes (we're talking REALLY deep). Defensively she's got great hands and poked the ball away from ball handlers a handful of times. She's a strong on-ball defender - scoring against Stokes is no easy task. Stokes is prepped to have an all-star senior year.
