Riverton

Riverton has a few quality wins under their belt and it seems like they are playing with a chip on their shoulders after being picked to finish 5th in Region 2. They have a bog time win and come from behind one against a talented and surging Lehi team. They also picked up anaother solid win that was physical against Skyridge. They are getting solid play from a lot of players and the strength and more versatile play from [player_tooltip player_id='812050' first='Maggie' last='Hamblin'] has been key in every win this year. They did have a tough loss to Woods Cross that does not make sense in how they have played against other teams. [player_tooltip player_id='788191' first='Faythe' last='Stauffer'] has started to find her rhythm as she is in attack mode and pouring them in. Freshman guard [player_tooltip player_id='875182' first='Sam' last='Spencer'] has been getting great run and she is doing some really good things for The Silverwolves. [player_tooltip player_id='1133593' first='Halle' last='Talbot'] has also provided solid minutes a s Glue Girls for this team.

Cedar Valley

We had a chance to watch Cedar Valley play a lot this summer and fall and you could see it starting to come together. Theyhave multiple players that they can turn to if they need a bucket and stop. They play a high motor and physical style of play which could come in handy when they play some of the other favorites in 5A. They are currently 4-0 and playing a different brand of basketball than they did last season. [player_tooltip player_id='796817' first='Presley' last='Whiting'] and [player_tooltip player_id='796815' first='Hadley' last='Whiting'] have been impressive so far. [player_tooltip player_id='796818' first='Ellie' last='Larson'], [player_tooltip player_id='935878' first='Daisy' last='Thayne'] and Savvanah Klodt have come to play as well as they provide a high powered scoring machine. This team is dangerous!

Timpview

Talk about regrouping and using your youth to pick up solid wins. Freshman stud [player_tooltip player_id='875196' first='Zion' last='Lloyd'] had herself a game the other night as she went crazy and scored 33 points in a big win. Region 7 might be the best region in 5A. [player_tooltip player_id='788242' first='Lina' last='Ballin'] and Lyvia Eyre have been solid and this guard line that they have is very tough to cover. This is a team that will only get better wit time. They suffered a tough loss to West but this team is young and they have a chance to keep things rolling in the right direction before region play.

Mountain Crest

MCHS is another school that has had a change in culture and they are playing well and playing hard against some tough teams. They were able to hang with Grantsville which took out the #1 team in the state. They do have another loss to a 6A team but they only lost by 3 and had a chance in this one. They play in a hard region but they proved early that they can compete. [player_tooltip player_id='796478' first='Bella' last='Carroll'] is one of the most improved 2027 prospects and Lily Smith has also been playing well. Layton Pratt has been good and [player_tooltip player_id='997499' first='Emersyn' last='Brown'] is also among some of teh most impressive prospect in her class.
