At least 738 games have wrapped up in our state of Wisconsin. Naturally, there are kids exceeding expectations I may have had for them, and I'd like to highlight a few of them today.

[player_tooltip player_id='533066' first='Audrey' last='Meudt']

Waunkee lines up above-average athletes at every position and tries to turn games into track meets. Meudt may not be the high-end athlete others in the Warrior rotation are, but she makes everyone around her better when she's on the floor. Meudt springs Waunakee's transition offense. She's found ways to change possessions by earning steals or rebounds and throwing a progressive outlet pass to get her team transition baskets. Early on, Meudt is bordering on being in the top ten in assists in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='914331' first='Hannah' last='Neubert']

Post-players that you can throw the ball into and expect good things to happen at the high school level are few and far between, but Neubert is one of them. She finishes over her left shoulder at a high level and can make creative inside-hand finishes with her right hand going left. The Menasha post has the tools to play somewhere at the next level, especially with her ability to space the floor. She has room to grow, but there's plenty to work with in her game.

Leyton Haselau

There is potential for Haselau to be a high-end player for Pardeeville. However, she's had some growing pains early. Shots she can make haven't fallen and overall been less than her best self on the offensive end of the floor, but there are flashes of brilliance in there. Haselau is comfortable in her skin and isn't afraid of being aggressive, which most newcomers are. She's one of the leaders in assists in the state, and the offensive side of the floor will regress to the mean in a good way for her. The Bulldogs have serious potential in the Trailways-West.

Hannah Bultman

In her junior debut, The 5'11 St. Thomas More post, Bultman scored 30 points with surgical efficiency. The Cavalier shot 10/16 from the field, 4/8 from the three-point line, and 6/7 from the free-throw line in a four-point loss to MAS. Bultman has also had a double-double in each of her first two games this season. She had two of those in her sophomore season. Time will tell if this will last, but she's been at her best to start the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='874373' first='Brooke' last='Wellnitz']

I'd be surprised if Wellnitz doesn't average close to a double-double this season and push for triple-doubles or even occasions quadruple-double on occasion. She can do everything. Wellnitz loves to rebound and defend, and with her athleticism, the sophomore will record plenty of blocks and steals with her 5'11 height and length. The point of intrigue in her sophomore season will be how much initiative she'll take on the offensive end of the floor because she was passive for a kid who scored 14 points per game last year. In Argyle/Pecatonica's conference, nobody can physically match her. Because of her, they're someone you can't count out in D4.
