Thanksgiving Basketball Highlights: Girls’ Talent Shines

Though a lot of people were stuffing their faces, filling their bellies, girls around the Volunteer state were cooking up their own things to serve on a platter . Call it service with a smile, these young ladies were entertaining family and friends as they did their thing in front of loved ones.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The season is young but it feels like hoop season has been in full effect for awhile. Personally, I feel there has been an upswing in talent in the state. Girls who have raised their level of play, which in turn has also increased parity in the different districts as well as unsung hero's. Kids have gotten better and their performances have shown. She is a three level scoring threat who plays with poise and precision. She can knock it down from the arc or put the ball on the floor and finish around the rim. Her game has improved significantly and has played a major role in this fine tuned Lady Mustangs attack. Look for this kid to have a breakout season and become an all district player when it's all said and done. This kid lit up the scoreboard and did so from the arc. A high IQ player, she used her quick instincts to contribute in other statistical categories as well . Assists, rebounds,&nbsp; steals, deflections, she impacted the game in more ways than one. Solid young kid who has major potential. Posting double digit scoring performances, her confidence is riding high as she is seeing the ball go through the net. Lee wants a ring and she has been putting in that extra work along with her teammates to do so. Focus and determined, she is starting to heat up right before district play opens up. Over the weekend, this kid was phenomenal at getting paint touches with ease. Tight handles, putting opponents on skates, this kid was getting to the lane and pulling it from beyond. I love her energy and the juice she brings to the floor. RW was getting it done, showing why she is a special player for the Lady Burros. She was clutch in the mid-range, big on the boards going up strong off two as defenders challenged her. She locked up on the defensive end, making her presence known. This young lady is solid and her body of work shows it.
