Winnetonka Tournament 2027 Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at the Class of 2027 standouts who caught our eye while watching the action at the Winnetonka Tournament.    The 5'7" Ross is one of the top young point guards in the Kansas City area. She is a very good two-way player who can excel as a scorer and a playmaker. She can shoot the ball from 3-point range and she also distributes the ball well. She is also very good in the open court in transition. She can also impact games on the defensive end with her anticipation to create turnovers and steals.     The 6'2" forward has already established herself as one of the top shot blockers in the state. She blocked four shots in the game I watched against Park Hill. She has a long wingspan and good timing, which enables her to get swats without fouling. She also does a good job of grabbing offensive rebounds and keeping the ball high to finish. She is also very mobile and she runs the court well. She is just starting to scratch the surface of her potential.     A 5'2" point guard who has excellent speed and quickness. She was impressive at our Prep Hoops Expo in St. Louis in October. She used her speed to get into the lane on a consistent basis and she was able to finish with a variety of runners and scoop shots against the taller defenders in the lane. Her body control in traffic was excellent. She can also hit 3-pointers when defenders give her a little extra room.     A 5'11" forward who has good versatility to go along with her height. She's a good athlete who was moving well into the right spots on the floor to get layups on her cuts. She is also a capable ball handler and ball handler who will find open teammates with her passing ability.     A 5'11" forward who plays a very solid game around the basket. She makes tough catches in the post and he shows good patience inside when she's making your moves. She can also drive it from the high post. She is a good defensive player who uses her footwork and anticipation to steal passes into the low post.     A 5'4" point guard who seemed to be all over the place with her speed and the high level of energy that she plays with. At times, she could be a one-girl press breaker with her speed in the open court. She distributes the ball very well and she also showed the ability to score on a floater in the lane.     A 5'7" guard who is another excellent piece to Lafayette's very talented sophomore class. She is an aggressive ball hawk on defense who can also knock down open 3-pointers on offense. She hit a big 3-pointer late in the game in the Irish' victory over Park Hill.     A 5'9" forward who is physically strong and is an impressive rebounder. She uses her strength and good positioning and she is very good at getting out of her area to grab rebounds. She plays with a strong motor, which enables her to operate against taller players in the lane.
