CSL MLK Showcase: Standout Seniors

It's the Martin Luther King Jr Holiday weekend which means there are tournaments happening across the region having teams play against other opponents they may not typically see in the regular season. The Craze Sports Live MLK Showcase put many North Carolina schools against South Carolina schools. We have plenty of athletes to discuss from the event, but let's start with part 1 of the senior standouts.    Kaitlyn Knoll was making nice cuts in the paint, and she attacked the basket battling against contact. She had a nice coast to coast take scoring in transition and earning the chance for three from the free throw line. She was constantly getting in the way on defense using her length and quick lateral movements to block the path of the ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='302216' first='Ranon' last='Suttle'] seemed to always be involved in fast breaks with her team whether she was getting the pass and scoring the bucket, or she was making the nice dish to her teammate cutting in to the open lane. She didn't back down from contact earning the opportunity to make an old fashioned three point play. She scored from deep showing a nice crossover step back move to get the space and knock it down.     [player_tooltip player_id='671519' first='Shalyn' last='Bell'] was making some nice moves in the paint catching the entry pass and using power dribbles to get the position she wanted. She ran the floor well being ready to score on a fast break. She knows how to slide into the openings getting to the block setting herself up for an opportunity to score off the pass.     [player_tooltip player_id='1215103' first='Margaret' last='Blythe'] had some nice range on her shot knocking it down from deep. She knew how to clear out the space opening up the court for her teammate to drive to the hoop. She did well making passes to her teammates hitting them right where they needed the ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='1215127' first='Marlo' last='Stuart'] was making hard cuts to the basket and being aggressive with her drives to the rim. She always seemed to be present on fast breaks whether she was getting ready for the pass, making the pass, or clearing out some space to let her teammate go to work. She did a nice job passing and relocating on the press break to get the ball up the court.
