[player_tooltip player_id='1151383' first='Ruby' last='Patterson'] is a name you should get to know. Her name is well known in Alachua county and she is slowly gaining recognition for her talent on the basketball court in other areas of the State. The talented 8th grader (yes, 8th grader) set the school record for 9 three pointers in a single game. She does more than shoot the three, however. Patterson leads her team in rebounds, assists, and points. Patterson also shoots 48 percent from the field. She will be a player to watch as the season wounds down and one to watch this upcoming travel season.

[player_tooltip player_id='798679' first='Kirsten' last='Gudmalin'] is definitely a sleeper on the First Coast and she could make a living on her athleticism alone. Gudmalin's speed and and athleticism is attention getting. Her lateral movement is also very good. Her ability to to stay in front of the ball handler is a strong part of her game and she also does a good job of rotating on the help. Gudmalin can also score the ball and averages 9.5 points per game. She also puts pressure on the opponent to stay with her. She utilizes her speed and aggression to get to the freethrow line. Gudmalin had three games this season where she attempted double digit free-throws.

[player_tooltip player_id='514545' first='Mariah' last='Young'] is still out “here” providing leadership for her Orange Park team, and playing some good basketball in the process. Young handles the ball at the point and can seemlessly move to the shooting guard position depending on the personnel on the floor. Young played good on ball defense and on offense shared the ball with some really good passes to cutting teammates and teammates filling the lane in transition. At the Clay County Cup tournament, Young played well.

[player_tooltip player_id='514625' first='Sophia' last='Scibelli'] was a MLK standout as she has been all of this month. Scibelli is a three level scorer: It starts with the three ball, where she can shoot off the dribble or step-back, and also shoot off the catch; Scibelli can shoot the midrange, sometimes maneuvering into the paint for a short jumper; and she can also get to the rim. Scibelli has added more physicality to her game and the tape shows a lot of conversions on the inside. She rebounds well from the guard position and it's not uncommon for Scibelli to post a double-double. During MLK weekend, the Junior guard posted a 23 point - 8 rebound game. Scibelli also puts the work in on the defensive end. As stated, she is not afraid of physical play and she does a good job of playing on the ball. She averages over 3 steals a game and can block shots from the guard position.

[player_tooltip player_id='748572' first='Jayde' last='Brant'] has that athleticism that makes up for any height advantage an opponent may have against her. Brant impressed today with her ability to play in transition and her decision making on the floor. She got a lot of her young teammates involved on the break and a high tempo offensive attack. Brant gets to the rim with quickness and good footwork. She utilized the euro, the floaters, and speed to score and to be a playmaker for her team.

[player_tooltip player_id='872292' first='Aiyana' last='Haynes'] showcased an ability to put the ball in the basket. She is an aggressive shooter who can shoot with distance. Haynes can also put the ball down on the floor and get to the basket. She was very crafty at getting to the freethrow line and creating scoring opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='1151388' first='Jahkyra' last='Rodman'] is a player who catches the eye from the moment you enter the gym. Rodman is athletic, fast, and has the ability and physical tools to play the shooting guard position as well as the four. She was a standout at an open gym over the MLK weekend where she showed explosiveness, athleticism, and leadership. Rodman is averaging 11. 2 points per game 4.1 rebounds from the guard position. She will be a player to watch for the last few weeks of the season and into the travel season.
