Due to outages there was a number of games without a stream, luckily I was able to catch some small school central coast hoops, and a very talented Del Ray League matchup. She has shown the ability to score in bunches, avg 18ppg so far this season. Relentless worker on both sides of the floor. Even while being face-guarded and doubled teamed on every catch Monday, she found ways to impact the game. She displayed a very quick first step, and attacked the basket to score or draw a foul on almost every touch. She has a knack for where the ball is going on the offensive glass and brought down multiple key rebounds for Coastal late in the game. Careful reaching or she might make you fall down. Sophia is one of the top 2026 guards in CA, (already holds multiple D1 offers) and I could see why watching Monday night. Very quick first step + utilizes a sidestep to create space to attack or pull up at very high level. 3 level scorer, will hit you off the bounce or catch and has a very dangerous step back. I was impressed with her ability to efficiently guard the ball 94 feet, and the havoc she causes flying around a press. She displayed impressive vision and decision making in transition. Does a great job driving to the basket with a purpose, and making the correct read to find open teammates. Currently leading La Salle in Pts, Reb, Steals and FT%. High IQ Point Forward that can lead the break, and have the offense played through at the high post. Does a great job sealing and using her body to score on both sides of the basket. Very athletic G/F combo, uses her length to create deflections and transition opportunities on defense. Attacks the basket with no fear, and is very hard to stop once she gets downhill left.
