Wednesday, January 15th I attended the 2A match-up of #18 North Valley Christian Academy traveling to Scottsdale to take on #27 Scottsdale Christian Academy. It was a close game at the half at 22-21 for NVCA but when the SCA PG went down, the game flipped and NVCA ended up winning 51-26.

Here were the standouts on the night

[player_tooltip player_id='1144065' first='Triniti' last='Terracciano'] NVCA (Pictured left)

An undersized scoring point guard with some toughness. She is super fast in the open court and scores with driving and speed layups. She hesitates quickly and then will jet into the lane to score. She has very quick hands and feet for defense and will even dive on the floor to get a loose ball. She scored a game high of 23 points with 5+ steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144067' first='Abby' last='Rice'] NVCA (Pictured right)

A face-up power forward with great size. Her brother Cameron at 6'7 played for NVCA. She can pull-up off the dribble from mid-range and works well in the high post and uses the floater game smartly. She is a good passer and runs the floor well. She scored 6 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144074' first='Kalina' last='Santor'] NVCA

A strong wing forward is tough to rebound and collect steals. She will score with catch and shoot and shoot triples and plays like a 3 and D type. She gives high effort on defense and moves her feet quickly laterally on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144076' first='Jade' last='Pflederer'] SCA

A scoring point guard can catch and shoot from three. She uses a hesitation dribble into a floater and handles most of the lead guard duties. She has a nice crossover she often uses and will go behind her back and has a quick burst to get downhill. She unfortunately turned her ankle in 2nd quarter but showed what she can do. To realize how much she means to the team. With her it was a 1 point game at halftime but without her, NVCA went on a 29-5 run to close out the victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144078' first='Jolee' last='Baddeley'] SCA

A tough defensive-minded power forward is extremely aggressive. She collects steals, blocks shots and rebounds at a high level. She will score it inside the paint and will defend nearly every position.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144080' first='Jewell' last='Baddeley'] SCA

A wing forward is a catch and shoot three point sniper. She defends well on the perimeter and inside. She is also a sneaky good passer and plays hard.

[player_tooltip player_id='1144082' first='Elizabeth' last='Fox'] SCA

A face-up power forward can extend to the three point line with her shooting. She has good size and some physicality she uses in the paint to rebound and box out her opponent.
