I am not sure what has gotten into [player_tooltip player_id='1116159' first='Sophia' last='Schulze'] of Hampton High School this season but she is currently leading the state in Blocks Per Game at 4.8. This number is staggering not only because of how impressive it is by itself but if you look at Schulze BPG numbers the last two seasons, they were 1 BPG as a freshman and 1.8 BPG as a sophomore. Now it's sitting at 2.5x that. These numbers speak to Schulze, her motor, and her understanding of situations. She knows when to go for a block compared to sitting back and defending, which ultimately becomes really important in clutch moments of a ball game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1153934' first='Jayde' last='Kreifels'] of Logan View/Scribner-Snyder High School is a new name to our system but one that you might want to get familiar with. Kreifels is her LV team's force in the middle of the lane. She is currently averaging just over 3 BPG, while also chipping in, in the departments of rebounding, scoring, and assisting each evening. Over-time this is someone that the state of Nebraska will get to know more and more but as for now, she is just worried about making a positive impact at the Varsity level for her squad. As long as she stays locked in mentally, I'm sure these numbers will continue into Kreifels' future on the hardwood. She is off to a promising start, so it's only up from here.

Someone that is going to be in the conversation for Freshman Of The Year in Nebraska is [player_tooltip player_id='884638' first='Stevie' last='Harley'] of Bellevue West High School. Harley may only be a freshman but her impact at the varsity level has been noteworthy to say the least. Not to mention, she comes in at #10 currently in BPG throughout the entire state of Nebraska, no matter age level or Class. The four main intangibles that Harley brings to the table is better than average size, athletic ability, a high motor, and adaptability. She can do a lot near or far from the hoop as it pertains to the skill-side of things and her natural size helps her use that to her full advantage. If Harley progresses to her full capabilities over the next three years, the sky is the limit.

[player_tooltip player_id='374574' first='Gretchen' last='Seagren'] maybe a SMSU Volleyball commit but she is still holding her own as a senior in the paint and that's something that you love to see. Any player that is D1 committed in another sport, doesn't HAVE to play other sports their senior season but Seagren wanted to. This shows her heart, dedication, and loyalty to her team. All in all, she puts up great numbers with her size inside the lane so that's important when looking at Wahoo's position and where they might end up for the Playoffs. At 6'0, others have to worry about Seagren in the lane once they beat their original defender. This Winter alone she is averaging 2.9 BPG, leading her team and coming in as one of the highest BPG leaders throughout the state. Her future might be Volleyball but trust me, Seagren is locked in and that could take them a long way in the grand scheme of things.
