Stellar Sophomores

The 2027 class is a remarkable group of players. They showcase immense talent, fierce competitiveness, and exemplary leadership both on and off the court    Yancey is a dynamic guard with the skills to score from anywhere on the court. She excels in transition, pushing the pace to either score or pass to an open teammate. Yancey frequently gets to the foul line and is unafraid of attacking the rim against bigger players. She is an effective player who shoots the basketball well and consistently delivers for her team.       Mitchell is a complete player. She scores, she rebounds, she defends, and she is competitive. Mitchell can knock down the three with ease or glide to the rim and score with a quick first step. She is a versatile and physical guard willing to do what it takes for her team to win the game. Mitchell currently leads her team in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks per game.     Rios is a sharpshooter. She has a smooth shot and great footwork. When Rios is leading the break in transition, she can stop several feet behind the three-point line to let it fly. Rios is also a strong defender who creates nearly 4 steals per game with her high basketball IQ and anticipation skills. Rios is an outstanding player who gives all she has on the court for her Knightdale squad.     Young is a versatile player with the ability to score in every aspect of the game. Her exceptional skill set, length, and athleticism allow her to dominate on the court. With a sweet outside shot and impressive range from behind the three, she's a threat from anywhere on the court. Young can also stop and pop in the paint - draining the midrange jumper - or score in the paint with power. Defensively, Young is a force who shoots passing lanes and creates easy scoring opportunities for her team multiple times per game. Her ability to impact both ends of the court makes her a true game-changer.     Lett is a talented player who scores efficiently around the rim. She can catch in the high post, drive past defenders, and score with either hand. Lett is an aggressive player who consistently makes positive plays for her Freedom Christian team. On the glass, Lett is an enforcer who dominates the offensive boards and is a physical presence on the defensive glass. Her versatility shines as she can score in the paint with post moves, drive from the perimeter, or knock down the three. Lett's all-around game makes her an invaluable asset to her team     Murray is a joy to watch on the basketball court. She can score in transition, from midrange, the foul line, and from the outside. With relentless effort and a motor that never stops, Murray is shining in her sophomore season for the Sharks. She is currently leading her team in points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, and shooting well over 50% from the field. Murray is a versatile and exceptional player who continues to improve for her team during the 2024-2025 season.
