She plays alongside [player_tooltip player_id='323415' first='Ace' last='Austin'], one of the best playmaking guards in the state. Avery is a recipient of many of Ace's passes when she is creating off the bounce. It is disheartening for opponents who try to slow Ace down and can't, but it can seem hopeless at times when you have to stay close to Avery without helping because of her threat from behind the arc.

Jaliyah is a relentless competitor who will do whatever it takes to win. She is a lead guard with a quick first step and can slip between defenders and get to her spots despite traffic and congestion in the paint. She makes good reads off the bounce, which is why her team gets quality possessions when the ball is in her hands. Defensively, she tests opponents' toughness, both physical and mental.
