Under the Radar: Elite Upperclassmen Scorers in the LA Metro

The ladies below are killing it, which has been a common theme throughout their high school careers. The ability to put the ball in the basket in multiple ways separates these gifted scorers. At times, they are flat out unstoppable and deserve national recognition!    Karisma is averaging nearly 24 ppg as a junior thus far. She knows how to put the ball in the basket, simple. Karisma can hit the open jumper, but is not overly reliant on 3pt shooting. She is very crafty getting to her spots. Her ability to score with and without the ball translates to team success. Karisma has eight games of 25+ points this year and is shooting 93% from the FT line!     Mathis combines special size on the wing with great instincts, skill, athleticism, and aggressiveness. When evaluating her game, the ranking is no surprise whatsoever. Mathis finishes comfortably with either hand. She effectively utilizes her 6'2 frame and can play 4 positions. Mismatch nightmare at the high school level! Steals and deflections lead to fast breaks. With a full head of steam, Mathis is unstoppable in transition. Defenders routinely bite on her pump fakes. Mathis is dominant against man and zone defense. Confident ball handler, exceptional rebounder, and elite slasher. Very few weaknesses in her game.     Jade is averaging almost 25ppg for the 12th ranked team in all of California. She has scored 20+ in all but 1 game. Her junior year was impressive, but she is now on another level! Jade is a legit 3-level scorer with a balanced shot appetite. Her movements are very fluid. Jade has the length and ball handling ability to excel as a shooting guard at the next level. Scoring the ball is 2nd nature.     Pure shooter, pure scorer! Adyra is one of the premier guards in the Anaheim area. She has 80 made threes and it's early January (4+ threes in her last eight games). Exceptional footwork, allowing her to come off screens, spot up on the wing, or pull up from the top of the key. Adyra is comfortable playing either guard spot. She is an efficient ball handler and creates space without wasting dribbles. Adyra has tough, acrobatic finishes in her arsenal at the rim. She competes hard on both ends, averaging 3.4 spg. Adyra is a name to know in the 2026 class!     UC Davis signee, [player_tooltip player_id='312839' first='Carrington' last='Davis-Parks'], has put up big-time numbers throughout her prep career. Carrington may be the best all-around player on this list given her athleticism, rebounding, playmaking, maturity, on-ball, and off-ball defense. She led Rialto High in every major statistical category last year (28.8ppg, 11.6rpg, 5.3apg, 4.3spg, 1.1bpg). Her quick first step and beautiful shooting stroke make her almost impossible to contain. Very few weaknesses in her game, which will translate to immediate impact at the next level. Carrington has more help this year with the addition of backcourt mate, [player_tooltip player_id='574422' first='Jackie' last='Polk']. Rialto High School is must-see television.     Jackie plays way bigger than her height, physically and mentally. She can shoot from half-court, literally! She has exceeded expectations (over 23ppg) since transferring to Rialto. Jackie and Carrington are a dangerous 1-2 punch and compliment each other. They are unselfish and comfortable in their own skin. Jackie has a low center of gravity and keeps the defense guessing as a shooter and slasher. Quick, tight handle with IN-THE-GYM range!     Julia leads the 13-3 Eagles in scoring. She has a reliable floater and nice layup package. Her 37 point performance in a close win against Westview High was flat-out special. Julia rarely utilizes the 3-point shot, but can knock it down if left open. She has a nice follow through and sets her feet. Julia understands how to leverage length to score over smaller perimeter defenders. Her all-around ability as a player and playmaker creates more scoring opportunities.     Liberty signee, Sierra Maxwell, is another versatile wing scorer. She averaged almost 29 per game last year! She moves without the ball, plays the right way, and competes on both ends. Her long strides make it hard to keep her out the lane. Sierra may be the best playmaker on this list, averaging almost 8 assists per game this year. She leads the team in 3pt shooting and is efficient from the line as well. Long arms and pesky defense result in deflections for fast break opportunities. Sierra knows how to put the ball in the basket whenever she chooses.     Her aggressiveness and confidence immediately stand out. Kim is a ball hawk defensively, which leads to several fastbreak layups. She is not shy letting it fly, allowing her to get hot in a hurry. Kim has a nice shooting touch with deep range. The ability to shoot from deep, finish at the basket, and get steals are some of her greatest attributes.     Ariana is averaging almost 30 per game! She averaged 22 as a junior last year (not too shabby), but clearly was not satisfied. Ariana already has three 40 point games on the season with only 1 sub-20 scoring performance. This has carried Antelope Valley to a 14-1 record. She is very hard to stay in front of and scores in a variety of ways. Ariana is an unstoppable force when she has it going!     Laila plays with great pace and is at her best creating off the dribble. Her ball handling and long strides allow her to get into the paint at will. She is equally impressive as a playmaker, which keeps the defense guessing. Laila had a triple double (23 points, 10 assists, 10 steals) in St. Anthony's season opener! Scoring is second nature for Laila, but her unselfishness and all-around game is impressive as well.     Lexi is a 3pt point specialist with an extremely quick release. She is at her best spotting up on the wing and moving without the ball. Lexi is also a great guard rebounder. She has gone for 20+ points seven times this year. Bonita High School's current success has a lot to do with Lexi's ability to make shots. She will put on a show to close out her prep career.
