The winter break has passed, the New Year is here, and winter hoops are in full swing! So, who's come out strong? Who's separating themselves as top tier players across the 802? Find out here.

[player_tooltip player_id='645616' first='Nylah' last='Mitchell'], 5'10 W/F - Burlington H.S. Class of 2025

The most dynamic player around, Nylah has been doing it all whether in transition or the halfcourt. Defensively she's so impactful with her pressure, disruption in passing lanes, and rebounding. And then she'll turn and push, leading the break and creating buckets with tough finishes and crisp feeds. A tough 3-level cover who's been putting up 20s regularly in a variety of ways, getting to strong slashes and her sharpened jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id='481355' first='Charlotte' last='Jasmin'], 5'10 G/W - Hartford H.S. Class of 2026

Incredibly polished, Charlotte is who coaches gameplan for when they see Hartford. She's one who plays bully ball and fills it up inside, yet well also break a defender down and step back into a crisp 3-ball. And, when the D overcommits, she's threading feeds through for good looks. Her anticipation defensively is so sound, reading actions and mucking them up before the opponent can find rhythm.

[player_tooltip player_id='584222' first='Zoey' last='McNabb'], 5'8 G - Champlain Valley Union H.S. Class of 2026

CVU has a new look this year, but Zoey has stepped into one of the drivers' seats. She's the orchestrator of the show, organizing offense, feeding teammates right on time, and putting the ball in the bucket. Her slashing has always been sly, in large part to nice change of pace and sharp handles, but she's shown improved shooting from range, including off the dribble. Moreover, she's a consistent pest defensively and rebounds at a high clip.

[player_tooltip player_id='975815' first='Maysa' last='Long'], 5'11 F - Mount Mansfield Union H.S. Class of 2027

The best forward in VT is [player_tooltip player_id='975815' first='Maysa' last='Long']. There's no one with better feel around the rim, with better movement around the paint, or with a motor that rivals hers. Long is a dependable double-double with her fundamental post finishes, second chance buckets, and zest for boards. Yet she's not bound to the paint. She can switch onto guards, and she's even been showcased atop some of MMU's pressure defenses. A hooper with a hunger.

[player_tooltip player_id='645601' first='Sabine' last='Brueck'], 5'8 G - North Country Union H.S. Class of 2025

A premier guard in D2 for the last couple years, Sabine is that guard who turns hoop into a track meet. Her ball pressure and anticipation cause tons of deflections and TOs, and add in her rebounding, you get plentiful transition opportunities. When she's in the open floor, Brueck has another gear, outrunning everyone and finishing most every play off. A collected competitor who knows how to win.
