CIF LA City Sec. Playoff Recap: Kennedy Cougars vs. Verdugo Hills

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Division 1 CIF LA City Sectionals began earlier last week with opening round games. A birth in the sectional title game was now on the line! #4 Kennedy and #1 Verdugo Hills won 2 playoff games heading into this matchup. Kennedy defeated #13 University in a blowout opening-round victory, later inching by Arleta High School a few days after. Verdugo Hills won both of their prior games in dominating fashion to advance. Kennedy's size and inside presence was the key for their success, but Verdugo's perimeter play ultimately carried them to a 54-49 victory. Below are standout players from both teams. Her quick and relentless nature is the staple of her game. <strong>Amiyya</strong> constantly applies pressure on the defense. She is able to create her own shot or drive and dish.
