Hidden Gems Set to Shine in February

At her height, Shepard's handles are such that she can take care of the ball in the open court or in traffic; making excellent decisions on the offensive end. She can hit the open shots from mid-range and from behind the 3pt line, but can also get to the basket and finish at the rim. On the defensive end, Cecelia is long and uses her length to her advantage. She is tough on dribblers and can shut down outside shooters and constantly crashing the boards for rebounds. She is tall, powerful, and skilled. At 6'0", she is strong and tough in the paint. Burns is a reliable target for her team on the block. She has excellent footwork for playing with her back to basket, she can also faceup and finish strong. She is definitely going to get rebounds, on both offense and defense. She has a great eye for the ball in the air, and great hands to grab the ball. At her height it is great to watch her never afraid to pull her taller defenders away and hit open jumpers at 10-15 feet. Defensively, Deja can get the needed stops in the post and she can help on smaller wing players, getting powerful blocks when needed. Her skills in the paint make her play appear effortless. Her strength, combined with her powerful frame, makes her both and offensive and defensive threat. With her back to the basket, Talegeta is strong and can finish in traffic. She can also hit the necessary jumpers for her role as well. On defense, Naomi is equally dependable. She can guard her position, getting both stops and rebounds. She also helps well on driving guards and shooters. She is quick with the ball in her hands, able to get around defenders to the basket or to may a great pass. As a taller guard, she sees the court well, and is good decision maker. She has the strength to get to the basket and finish, she also posses three point range and can hit baskets everywhere in between. Defensively, Moyer is sneaky behind defenses getting great steals in a full court press or traps. She can guard both on the perimeter inside, making her extremely important to Denver South.
