St Clair County Championship Top Performers

Jayla was consistently showing her ability to score in a variety of ways. During the championship game, Jayla didn't waste any time as she set the tone early with a big 3 right off tip-off. Then, she continued to get to the basket by beating her initial defender. As the game got tight, Jayla came up big again in the 4th with assists, timely buckets, and 6-6 from the free throw line. Despite the loss, she kept Springville in the game and helped keep it close as they made a run in the 2nd half. Georgia showed a nice mixture of everything as she knocked down 3's, drove coast to coast for a nice basket, and showed the ability to drive by her defender to get to the rim. Georgia had a couple of nice drives using her left hand as she's a right-handed player. She really showed a nice feel to the game and made some good cuts to the basket that led to easy points. However, in playing in the biggest game of the season thus far she stepped up big for Moody. Sophie knocked down 3 three-pointers and was 3rd leading scorer for the game with 13 points. She played fearless &amp; confidently. As Springville was making a run she knocked down a big 3 to give Moody a little breathing room. She's a freshman guard who dominates the game with her advanced ball-handling skills, speed, and body control to get to where she needs to go on the court. She has the ability to break the average press on her own 80% of the time In this game Serenity played smart basketball, made nice passes, and made timely baskets. She finished the game with a solid 18 points and won all-county MVP. Leah is a crafty and fearless guard who puts pressure on the defense by handling the ball well and getting in the paint looking for shots or dishing out to her teammates. She doesn't ever seem to get rattled or rush and keeps a pretty calm demeanor throughout the game.
