I wanted to wet your appetite and get everyone around you talking. As we are getting down to the nitty-gritty and the district postseason is literally around the corner, I wanted to throw a wrench into everyone's thinking. I, trying to be creative and all, came up with this wild idea of a real genuine postseason tournament. Don't get me wrong, it is a big what-if, but hey, I might as well spill whatever is in mind and put it on paper.

Picture this, what if there was one big tournament where all TSSAA member schools played in it? Doesn't matter the classification, district, or division, none of that matters. It's just one big giant tournament similar to the NCAA March Madness tournament held every year. For the sake of this article, we will call it the Tennessee February Frenzy. In this make-believe tournament, district winners, win-loss record, and strength of schedule would all be considered when seeding teams. Tough? Probably so. Would that be interesting? You bet.

Obviously, this is a hypothetical situation, but one that could generate a lot of revenue and be fun for all participants. I mean this would be a good way for athletes to see schools they may have never seen, college coaches could see talent from different parts of the state, families and communities could visit places they may have never gone before. Add on the opportunity of having true best-of-the-best match-ups/ scenarios would have people locked in from start to finish. We would be crowning one winner who would take home the gold ball. We also would have a true postseason tournament team based on their body of work during the tournament itself.

Now, don't get me wrong, a lot of strategic planning would have to be in place to pull off such a feat, but it would be awesome. Here is the framework for all this Frenzy Madness that would take place.

*All Elite 8 Games will be played at MTSU.

*Final Four will be in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena.

All games would start in the Nashville area and then branch out from there, then bring it all back to the Ville as a central location. Sound fun? Does so to me. What I like about this also is allows our student-athletes to experience areas they may not normally get to. Who is to say a kid from Memphis may not like the Johnson City area? Or a kid from Chattanooga couldn't ever envision herself liking the city of Martin. You get my point. This just allows for opportunity and growth amongst our student-athletes.

So in the coming weeks as the season comes to an end, I will be tallying up records and using other resources to seed teams. How winners of matchups have yet to be determined (maybe we will flip a coin with heads representing home and tails representing the visitors.) We will feature the girls in each matchup and then go from there. See, my mind sometimes has crazy ideas and this is just one of them.

Stay tuned as things start to roll in as reality sets. Good luck to all teams in real life and good luck in this reality series.
