WDA – State Prediction Part 1

MINOT

Minot has one of the best players in ND history and all the pieces around her to have a great team. Even with some unfortunate injuries, Minot will be tough to stop on their way to the State Tournament.

Eve is a great player for Minot and has improved as the season has progressed. She is a great defender and tall guard at 5'9. She plays really hard and fits in great with the offensive sets that Minot runs. She spaces the floor with her outside shooting ability. She is currently shooting about 35% from behind the arc.

Kinley has taken over at the point guard position since Fricke has been out with an injury. She has done an exceptional job and is very steady for a player that is only a sophomore. She is super skilled with the ball and it is difficult to turn her over. She is averaging over 10 points per game and shooting an unbelievable 46% from behind the arc. Kinley is going to be a beast for years to come.

Everette is another young player that is getting an opportunity due to some injuries Minot has suffered. She was ready for her opportunity. She is an aggressive player and not afraid to drive in hard on bigger girls. She has an array of finishes to make baskets over those bigger girls. She is a great passer as well, with the ability to pass line drive one-handed passes on time and target to teammates.

There isn't much more to say about Leelee that has already been said. The likely Gatorade Player of the Year is having another unbelievable season. She can score inside and out and is an incredible force wherever she is. She is one of the best players in ND history.

Sydney is a blue collar worker and one of the toughest players in the West. She is super tough and physical. At 5'10, she is able to compete with posts around the rim and has great strength with her positioning. She is a great offensive rebounder, averaging about 3 offensive rebounds per game.

[program_tooltip program_id='712656' first='Mandan' last='']

[program_tooltip program_id='712656' first='Mandan' last=''] is a great defensive team with an elite defender in [player_tooltip player_id='245588' first='McKenna' last='Johnson']. She is an above average shooter and can knock down the three. She is averaging just under 10 points per game and plays the game with great poise. I like how hard she competes defensively and her ability to handle the ball. Having multiple guards on the floor that can handle the ball is a great luxury as a coach.

McKenna is having an All-State caliber season and will be needed if Mandan wants to make it out of a tough WDA to the state tournament in 2025. She is probably the best defender in the entire state. Her length and athleticism allows her to defend anyone of any size and position. She is one of the best shot blockers I have seen - her timing is incredible.

Kimimila is an aggressive guard with good size and athleticism. She can defend multiple positions and plays really hard. She has great active hands when she is guarding the ball. She leads her team in deflections and steals. It is great to have a player that is locked in defensively. She is also a capable scorer, averaging about 8 points per game.

Sapphire has had a great season and plays a key role in Mandan's offense. She is their best perimeter shooter and shots a great percentage at 40%. She is able to space the floor and is someone opposing defenses always have to know where she is. This allows other players whose game might be more of a driver to get to the basket or drive and kick. Sapphire is also scoring about 8 points per game.

Ziah is Mandan's second leading scorer. The best part of her offensive game is her ability to drive to the basket. She is a strong and athletic guard who has great body control on her drives. She is a skilled ball-handler and does a good job against pressure defense. She is a competitive defender and quick enough to defend smaller guards, but strong enough to guard bigger girls as well.
