<p>The 2025 New Mexico Girls State Basketball Championships have come to an end. The Title Games for the following classes -- 4A, 3A and 2A -- were held at 'The Pit' on March 14. Here is what transpired!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">4A: No. 1 Kirtland Central vs No. 2 Gallup</h2>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Gallup </p>

<p>Whitehair, Tsosie lead Gallup past Kirtland Central, 51-41. This was a riveting 4A meeting that featured 13 lead changes and multiple clutch buckets. However, the lead did not exceed six points on either side, for the majority of the game. It was not until the 4:52 mark in the fourth quarter, that the Bengals lead reached double-digits. [player_tooltip player_id='901165' first='Kayden' last='Tsosie'], nailed a three-pointer, putting Gallup up, 46-35. It was during that same stretch, that Gallup turned up their defensive intensity. In the end, the Bengals held the Broncos to 1/13 from the field in the fourth quarter, allowing just six points.</p>

<p>Having said all that, there was ultimately no answer for the Bengals front-court tandem as they combined for 29 points and 20 rebounds. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='467051' first='Rylie' last='Whitehair'], a UTRGV commit, logged a double-double with a team-high 17 points and 12 rebounds. As for the aforementioned Tsosie, the sophomore tallied 12 points , 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 5 blocks.</p>

<p>Gallup finishes the 2024-25 season with a 30-2 record and 10 game winning-streak. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">3A: No. 1 Navajo Prep vs No. 2 West Las Vegas</h2>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Navajo Prep</p>

<p>The top-seeded Eagles captured their second consecutive 3A State Championship after defeating the four-seeded Dons, 52-43. It was a physical game that featured nine lead changes and multiple trips to the foul-line. Navajo Prep had a staggering amount of free-throws, ultimately going 20/32 altogether. As for West Las Vegas, they went 14/19 from the charity-stripe.</p>

<p>Five players scored for Coach Crisp with two -- [player_tooltip player_id='1225687' first='Leilani' last='Wood'] and Kassidy Jones -- reaching double-figures. Wood, a hardworking sophomore, finished with a team-high 12 points and 9 rebounds. In regard to Jones, the senior chipped in with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.</p>

<p>Navajo Prep finishes the 2024-25 season with a 26-5 record and 21 game winning-streak. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">2A: No. 1 Tatum vs No. 3 Pecos</h2>

<p><strong>Winner:</strong> Tatum</p>

<p>The trio of [player_tooltip player_id='888503' first='Louann' last='Villasenor'], [player_tooltip player_id='893558' first='Avery' last='Henard'] and Sydni Rice propelled the top-seeded Coyotes past the three-seeded Panthers, 57-53. Villasenor led the way, posting a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Henard also had a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. On top of that, Henard also had 4 assists and 4 steals. Lastly, Rice chipped in with 13 points and 6 rebounds.</p>

<p>In spite of having eight more turnovers (Tatum: 30 , Pecos: 22) the Coyotes still were able to pick apart the Panthers defense. What's more, Tatum absolutely dominated the glass (Tatum: 52 . Pecos: 29) which resulted in several second chance opportunities. </p>
