928 Hoops Northern Arizona Showcase – Team Wilson Evaluations

On Saturday March 15th the 928 Hoops Northern Arizona Showcase took place at Sandra Day O'Connor. It was Team White against Team Wilson. There were loads of next level on hand from all over the state.   Here I look at some of the standouts on Team Wilson    Wilson displayed her all around ability as she was impactful on both ends of the court. On defense she has very good instincts and hands. On offense she was in attack mode but also showed a nice mid-range game.     Kayanna is a smooth wing forward who excelled off the dribble. She has the ability to finish around the basket with either hand. She also was able to step out and shoot from the outside.     Shirley is a nice point guard that played at a good pace and kept her teammates involved. She is a good ball handler that hit some pull up jumpers. She also showed that she could shoot with range.     Kylee came out from the opening tip with tons of energy. She impacts the game even when she is not scoring. Her passing and court vision might be her best skill as she hit teammates with some very nice passes. She was also one of the better rebounders at the event.     Franklin is an athletic wing who likes to get downhill, and she did that. Off the dribble she was hard to contain once she got a step on the defenders. She also showed that she can pass and play solid on the ball defense.     Jordyn a nice athletic wing who was a problem on defense. She moved her feet well giving ball handlers fits. She also is a good ball handler with a good feel for the game.     The lefty played how she always plays which is extremely hard. She only knows one speed and that is fast. On offense she was active from the mid-range as well as out on the fast break. One of the top players at the event.     This 8th grader is no stranger to playing against older competition. She has an advanced feel for a middle school player. She showed that she knows how to get to her favorite spots on offense. She has very nice form on her shot and good ball handling skills. She was voted the MVP of this event.     This was my first time seeing [player_tooltip player_id='1219160' first='Latisha' last='Mutte'] and I was impressed. She had a good burst in the open court and was looking to drop dimes. She also showed the ability to finish with either hand in traffic. On defense she was a ball hawk.
