Class B Area 4 Area Recap

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There will be a new State Champion rising to the top of Class B, as defending champion Lomega was knocked out by Leedey on Saturday. Decent chance that the new champion comes out of Area 4, as I think both Lookeba-Sickles and Whitesboro have a good chance to win it all.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Area Championship saw Lookeba beat Whitesboro by a 40-35 score. Perhaps most importantly for Lookeba, putting them on the other side of the bracket as Hammon. With #1 Lomega seeing an early exit, #2 Hammon becomes the new favorite, armed with the biggest weapon in Class B, 6-5 post player [player_tooltip player_id='654574' first='Henley' last='West']. Lookeba will play a very big and battle tested Chattanooga team in the first round at the Big House.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Whitesboro Lady Bulldogs were able to bulldoze through #20 ranked Moyers, and a Varnum team that had upset #8 Pittsburg in Regionals. After dropping the Area Championship to Lookeba, Whitesboro had the difficult task of beating a Dover team that had won 3 straight. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm impressed with the Dover and Wilson-Henryetta girls basketball programs. Dover won 0 games six years ago, and after making the State Semi-Finals last year, made it all the way to the "Go-Game" of Area, despite graduating the Harviston twins. Wilson was 2-16 six years ago and after winning 20 games last season, knocked out a #8 Pittsburg team that planned on making a much further run. I have written extensively about Rowyn, but excited to see what she is able to do at the last year of the Big House. Great shoulder fakes, great up-and-under moves.
