Div. V State Title Game Report: Woodland Christian vs. Rosamond

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coming into the game, Woodland Christian won 28 of their last 29 games! Their championship opponent, Rosamond, was on a 14 game winning streak! Balanced scoring and stout team defense have been key indicators for success in both winning streaks. This was evident in the title game. A 3rd quarter run from Rosamond saw them trail by only 4 heading into the 4th quarter. Ariel Cain and Abigail Cardoza led the comeback, but Rosamond could only score 6 points in the final quarter. Woodland Christian ultimately prevailed 47-41 after Teagan Hayes closed the game out with free throws. They led from start-to-finish, but the game was close throughout. Rosamond's 3 leading scorers are all juniors, so they will be back and better next year. The Division V state champs, Woodland Christian, have some talented seniors graduating, but a very gifted sophomore class to lead the future of the program. Anytime Rosamond made a run, <strong>Teagan</strong> killed their momentum with timely buckets. She was able to get to the line, the basket, and shoot from the perimeter. Her all-around ability as a scorer, defender, and playmaker makes Woodland almost unbeatable. Sets the tone defensively at the front of their line.
