[player_tooltip player_id='788192' first='Skylie' last='Barker'] ended the season averaging 19 PPG and she also broke the schools scoring record on the way to making her the All-Time Leader in points scored at Copper Hills. Her 19PPG also made her the scoring champ of 6A. Barker also had the 3rd most rebounds in all of 6A this season and the 8th most assist in all of 6A this season as well. Barker was also able to finish 2nd in blocks this season. Making her one of the best all-around players in the state.

All Around Talent

Coaches love it when players can play both ends of the floor and that is what Barker brought to the table, not only this season but all 4 years. That all-around game is hard to game plan for a lot of coaches will be happy she is no longer at Copper Hills. Barker rebounded at an elite level and that ability enabled her to push the ball and get to the rim. Then you add that she can finish on both sides of the basket, made her a very tough player to stop. The way that she ran the floor and made the extra pass was also telling of her vision and passing ability. Often times you look at her scoring and rebounding and overlook her ability to make strong sharp passes, Barker is an elite passer. Defensively she tallied up block shots and created a lot of turnovers. Barker was a game changer to have on the floor on both ends of the ball.

Ability at the Next Level

Like every player heading to the next level there will be a learning curb and even though Barker is one of the best players in the class she will need to work on a few things.

Barker could be a solid option at the D2 level as a PG that can also slide over as a SG. She would be a steal at that level because she can play right away. Barker is quick enough and strong enough to get to the rim. Her touch around the rim is nice and she is a 90% free-throw shooter so being able to draw contact will always be a plus.

On the defensive end she will be solid guarding the 2's as she can use her strength and strong lower body to knock players off course. Barker also has length that she can use to get tips and play solid off the ball. The IQ she has as a daughter of a coach is something you can see as her anticipation in the help-side gets her tips and steals.
