Standout Upperclassmen in the 4A/5A Semifinals- Part 1

The 4A and 5A Semifinals kicked off on Tuesday and Wednesday and one thing that has become apparent is that the majority of the eight teams have leaned on the experience and talent of their Seniors. In this article, we look at the Standout Seniors who have really impacted the 2025 Semifinals.    [player_tooltip player_id='346835' first='Jaida' last='Civil'] provided an excellent stat line that was shortened by a running clock: 15 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, and 5 steals. The Tennessee is the highest ranked player in the tournament and with that comes great expectations. Civil is use to it and has delivered all season. The Semifinals was no different. Look for an exciting an exciting Finale and believe this - Civil will be in the middle of the action and will have a huge impact on the final result.     [player_tooltip player_id='346818' first='Jayden' last='Terry'] was very good in the Semifinals. She did a little of everything from owning the three-point line to handling the ball in crunch time. Terry was a playmaker and got the ball to her scorers or calmly took it to the rim herself. Terry was also very good on the defensive end and made it tough for the opposing guards to get to the rim and run the offense. Terry also put the opposition in foul trouble drawing 9 fouls and getting to the free-throw line for 5 attempts. She grabbed 7 rebounds for the game and also had three assists and 4 steals. The talented Senior was a leader on the floor, and she displayed an incredible high basketball IQ all game long .       Jamison Caldwell came to play and she put it upon herself to get her team to the Finals. The Senior shot over 50 percent for the game and knocked down 3 three pointers as well. Caldwell hit some key shots in the 4th quarter and she was clutch. Caldwell also got to the rim and converted on a clutch floater at the rim. Carswell also showcased her versatile skills. At times she handled the ball full court and was key in breaking the full court press.          [player_tooltip player_id='346819' first='Trishay' last='Collins'] had 7 rebounds, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks in a fast paced game with a running clock. Collins is one of the top centers in the tournament and she is looking forward to a matchup against [player_tooltip player_id='515288' first='Dezuray' last='McGill']. It will be worth the kettle cooked popcorn to see this matchup.       [player_tooltip player_id='819898' first='Kendall' last='Ruise']  was an X-Factor in Gainesville's Semifinal win. Ruise played very good defense and used her speed and quickness to impact the game. She got to a lot of loose balls and also pulled down 5 rebounds from the guard position. Ruise scored 7 points and kept the pressure off of Cardwell and Terry. Her Senior experience paid dividends for her team and she was a standout and X Factor for the game.     Jsiyah Taylor put it on her shoulders and gave a gallant effort against heavy favored Palm Bay. Taylor  went 5-7 from the field , including two three pointers a game that saw her team go down in defeat. Taylor also drew 7 fouls and was 6 for 6 from behind the arc.       [player_tooltip player_id='515288' first='Dezuray' last='McGill'] was a standout big in the semifinals, pulling down 5 rebounds, 9 points, and 2 steals. McGill was a standout last year in the Finals and is poised for the matchup against Palm Bay's [player_tooltip player_id='346819' first='Trishay' last='Collins']. McGill is a workhouse on the inside who can get the job done and score on the blocks. She can also defend her area in the paint, and is very good on the helpside.
