2029 Top Young Gun Showcase impact players

Several of the top incoming 2029's attended the Top Young Gun Showcase in Tucson Arizona, and their talent was on display as the group of 22 players showcased their individual basketball skills and also played a series of games. Some of the standout players included Jai Bogan-Jacobs, the 6'0" combo guard who already holds offers from the University of Arizona and the University of Alabama. Here are a few of the top players from the Showcase.    Jaiyana "Jai" Bogan Jacobs is an incredible 6'0" Combo Guard for her age and will be one of the most highly recruited players in Arizona for the next few years. She has tremendous ball-handling skills. She is long for a Combo Guard, she runs the floor well, and she can score from all 3 levels. Most of all, she is poised and calm in pressure situations which will be huge for her as the pressure starts to mount with very high expectations.     Jayda Nelson has tremendous potential as a Shooting Guard at the High School level. She is a multi-sport athlete that is quick and agile, and has the ability to create shots for herself. She is a very good defender that will rebound and guard multiple positions. She sees the floor well for a young player and is willing to do anything to help her team win. She has the ability to come in and make an immediate impact for powerhouse Salpointe Catholic.     Kayla Del Rio is one of the hardest-working players that I have come across in my several years of coaching. She is unrelenting in her drive and ambition to become great. She is a versatile Combo Guard who can play multiple positions and defend multiple positions. She is a terrific ball handler for her age and she is a very solid shooter. Her basketball IQ is also very high for her age. She will make an immediate impact for Salpointe and be a player to watch for the next 4 years.     Shyann Monroe is a very good prospect who is developing quickly into one of the top players in her class. She is a very dedicated and committed athlete that works hard at developing her all-around game as well as her strength, agility, and speed. She is a very good shooter that can score inside or outside. She is a good defender and she is the ultimate team player.     [player_tooltip player_id='892633' first='Layla' last='Curtis'], 5'9" Combo Guard out of Tuba City is one of the state's most intriguing prospects. She is an all-around athlete who excels in several sports. She will be one of the best shooters in the state as a Freshman. She shoots the 3 at a high percentage, and she can also knock down the tough mid-range shots. She is a relentless competitor who has an incredible motor. She can guard multiple positions and she can play the point, the shooting guard, or the wing. She will be a D1 College prospect.
