When I first sat down to watch [player_tooltip player_id='514945' first='Emma' last='O'Brien'] and her Lady Lightning 17U team, I didn't think she was going to be able to shoot it from deep but man was that incorrect. O'Brien is listed as a 6'0 SF and she has an impressive shooting ability off the catch. In her games on Saturday specifically, most matchups didn't respect Emma or that she could shoot that shot and she made everyone pay because of it. In one contest she was 3/3 in the first half from behind the arc and that helped her team stay in it as they came back to win in the second half. O'Brien also has the ability to screen on the outside and pop or she can seal and role for a look near the hoop. [program_tooltip program_id='712375' first='All' last='in'] all, there is always stuff to continue to work on but this weekend was a great showing for O'Brien.

You only have to watch [player_tooltip player_id='635144' first='Abbey' last='Hobart'] shoot the ball a few times to understand that she is the definition of a knock-down shooter off the catch from distance. Hobart makes it look effortless. When she catches her feet are square to the hoop, she is sunken in her stance, and her hands are ready to let it fly. Those are just a few tell tale signs that you have someone that can shoot the basketball. When you consider that and the fact that when she lets it go, it looks picture perfect every-time, you start to realize what you are looking at in real time. All the opportunities that I saw Hobart take this weekend, she converted on and that was noteworthy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1213951' first='Jane' last='Belmont']'s game was more in and out this weekend than just shooting from the three point line. Belmont has fantastic size for her guard-like skill set at times and when it came down to the final minutes of some of her contests the past few days, she came up clutch with a big jumper and some big finishes at the bucket with under a minutes or so to go. Belmont proved that she understands when she has to take over, now it's all about getting her consistency under control. Not that she did poor in any way but if she can work on that from all three offensive levels, while understand her time and space, she could be a problem in the right system moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='514893' first='Madelyn' last='Kiper'] has a unique mixture of size and skill. Kiper, a 6'0 SF, proved this weekend that she can handle the ball at a thorough rate, that she is a weapon offensively from every level, and that her length gives her big advantages in 1v1 situations. Offensively, Kiper seemingly can stretch the floor with her catch and shoot ability or she can handle and attack the opponent off the dribble for an easier look at the bucket. Defensively, she can switch 2-5 in most situations and that proves vital for whoever she is lacing up for. This was the first time I saw Kiper compete but she stood out. Both literally and metaphorically.

[program_tooltip program_id='712375' first='All' last='in'] Athletics 17U came up just short in their first contest of Saturday afternoon but that didn't change the fact that [player_tooltip player_id='1227457' first='Lindsay' last='Farbman'] at the SG position did a solid job of showing out, along with a few others on this roster. Farbman is a listed SG, which is her natural position but she did a decent job of handling the rock as a PG throughout the duration of this contest. She helped her team bring up the ball at times, she assisted others, and she did make some open looks from all over the floor when those opportunities present themselves. Like I said, a few of these prospects had good showing but I was really impressive with Farbman.
