14U Division “Scary Upside” From Dynasty Classic

I often write something like "her upside is scary, not for me, but for defenders" to try and paint a picture, and although the paint hasn't dried yet, some of these young ladies are doing some things ahead of their years, so here ya go    Davidson is only in the 6th grade, but trust me on my saying "her ceiling has no roof". She's long and athletic, which is the base; she's heady, and she does things instinctively. Perfect example of her saving the ball out of bounds, turning in the air, and firing an outlet for a basket. She plays the passing lane and handles the ball afterward. Her change of direction is special, but she also scores off the dribble in the set. Her first step is nice, defends on the ball, and has good timing to block shots     Ingram is in the FIFTH grade, and she's also long and athletic and stands just under "the magic number". How good is she, well she keeps the ball high, she reacts quickly on defense, she rebounds on both ends and she has good timing to block, alter, and (or) defelct shots but by no means is she anywhere near the finished product because I just enjoyed her energy and watching her battle for loose balls. She is showing signs of being able to control a game, from either end, and that's coming from a REAL EVALUATOR     Long reminds me of that other Scarlett because if you blink, her deceptive first step has her "Gone With The Wind" yet what I like about her is that she understands something very important, and that's how to find ways to put the ball in the basket, you know, a versatile scorer. A couple of inches shy of the magic number, she faces the basket and shoots the jumper with confidence while being defended, yet scoring off the dribble and around the basket, putbacks included, after contact are equally impressive, yes, she rebounds on both ends     Macken has a scorer's mentality, and her ability to create not only her shot, but also spacing, is going to create some problems for defenders, especially since she drops the "catch and shoot" with ease     Lozano patiently sets the defender up, and her slight HEZ gets them off balance for her to attack and finish, nice body control after contact. She also showed she could drop the jumper as well as show me her "catch and shoot"     Cortez plays within herself and already understands the importance of taking good shots. She also does a good job of getting hers "in the flow" so seeing her create her shot under pressure and drop it while being defended are good signs     Levie also does a good job on her shot selection, and if you leave her open, she will make you pay. Well, if you guard her, she finds ways to get past the defender to score as well as drop the jumper with a hand in her face     Walker immediately grabbed my attention by playing the passing lane, something I love seeing players do, and not only did she read the floor, she saw the floor and hit teammates on the money. She scored off the dribble and also dropped it from outside, ala "catch and shoot"
