Highly competitive basketball is something one can consistently count on from teams that come out of Ohio. The 2025 AAU season has proven that once again per usual.

The Buckeye State has once again impressed in club play from the high quality of events that have taken place in the state to the litany of talented teams that call Ohio home.

The number of teams under the Team Hoskins banner is no exception to this rule. The Hoskins refers to Brandie Hoskins whose hoops journey from Chaminade Julienne HS in Dayton (where she was a 2003 McDonald's All-American) took her to Ohio State and even into the WNBA with the Seattle Storm.

Without further ado, here is a look at Hoskins' 16U Black squad.

Ja'Ira Moon – Miamisburg is well-represented throughout the Team [program_tooltip program_id='1235601' first='Legends' last='Hoskins'] organization and its 16U Black team is no exception. Moon is the sole representative from the Vikings on the 16U group.

Lailah James – James is a talent from Springfield that is listed at 5-foot-10. She primarily operates in the frontcourt as a three forward. She maintains an active athletic schedule between track and field as well as soccer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235460' first='Maeve' last='Hamrick'] – The same applies to Hamrick as she also partakes in volleyball at the junior varsity level at Beavercreek. She stands at 5-foot-7 and can inserted into a team's lineup as a two or as a three.

Sophie Bevan – Bevan is a name we remember vividly from the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit's Grassroots in Gem City event as she was one of our top performers. She is one of three from Mason HS on this team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235471' first='Maggie' last='DeBrosse'] – DeBrosse is another of the representatives from Mason on this year's Team [program_tooltip program_id='1235601' first='Legends' last='Hoskins'] 16U Black assembling. Her athletic career has also included participation in aquatic events.

[player_tooltip player_id='974172' first='Ava' last='Smith'] – The same applies to Smith as it applies to DeBrosse as she has also partaken in aquatic events. Listed at 5-foot-5 from Centerville, Smith is the only representative from the Elks on the travel team roster.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241394' first='Jane' last='Davis'] – Davis is the third of the three representatives from Mason on the travel team's roster. The previous season's Comets version concluded with a record of 24-2 and advanced to the Region 3 finals of the state tournament.

[player_tooltip player_id='1235456' first='Nyla' last='Lane'] – Lane was another notable we remember from earlier in the month at the Grassroots in Gem City. She can throw defenders off balance as they are unsure as to if she will attempt a shot from long range or drive to the rim.

Aaliyah Davis – Davis was part of a Northridge team that has seen a tremendous amount of success the past couple of seasons. The Polar Bears were looked at as an afterthought in Ohio's girls basketball landscape for many years but that is no longer the case given Northridge has combined for 35 wins in the first two seasons of the Antoine Sain era.

Megan Lubke – Lubke is the sole player from Brookville on the travel team roster. Following a 2024-25 season that saw the Blue Devils finish with a record of 18-8 plus advancing to the semifinals of the Region 20 portion of the state tournament, one would expect that momentum to translate to travel ball.
