Kansas City Clash Saturday Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top standout performers from Saturday's first day of action at the Kansas City Clash, which is being held at Homefield in Kansas City, KS.    The versatile 5'11" 2027 forward had a strong day in leading her team to a couple of victories on Saturday. She is such a tough matchup for defenders with her long range shooting combined with her ability to drive it. When she got the ball in her dominant left hand, she was definitely going to score. She was knocking down shots on the pick and pop from the perimeter. She is also a solid secondary ball handler who was finding open teammates with her passing.     The 2028 guard from Mid Missouri got the day started with an excellent performance in which she topped the 20-point mark. She was aggressive early and had it working throughout the game. She was getting buckets from several different spots on the court. She was getting to the basket and scoring with either hand on the drive. She knocked down multiple 3-pointers. She even got inside and scored on a post up off an inbounds play.     A 5'11" 2027 wing player who is a versatile offensive talent with a high basketball IQ. She was using her size and strength to get into the lane to shoot off the dribble. She was also pulling it from deep as she knocked down multiple 3-pointers. She handles the ball well and facilitates offense as she can see over the defense with her height. She is an impressive young talent.     The 5'10" 2026 guard was in her offensive bag throughout the game that I watched during the afternoon. She did a nice job creating her own shot off the dribble. She had some excellent escape moves off the bounce which led to mid-range jumpers and 3-pointers. If the defender went underneath the ball screen, she would knock down the long ball. She also scores well in tight spaces in the lane. She used her length to have an impact on the defensive end as she blocked a few shots on the perimeter.     The 5'4" 2027 guard is a bundle of energy any time she steps on the floor and Saturday was no different. She used her quickness to dart into the lane on penetrating drives and buckets. She was hitting the 3-pointer off the catch. She also competing very hard on the defensive end. On one play, she was caught inside against a near 6-footer who tried to back her down into the post. She stood her ground and ended up stealing the ball away to start the break.     A 5'10 2028 forward from the Kansas side who did an excellent job while playing up at the 16U level. She is very patient and poised in the post for a young player. She has good footwork inside and she can make a nice floater in the lane. If she catches the ball at the high post, she can wheel and deal on the drive. She is also a good passer if she draws a second defender to her.     A 5'7" 2027 guard from the SWMO area who is a very talented offensive player. She is a nice ball handler who comes off the high ball screen ready to shoot it from 3-point range. She can hit the deep ball and she can also turn the corner to get downhill on the drive. She also uses her dribble to set up defenders to change speeds and she also used the back dribble very well to shake a defender on her way to the bucket.
