The Champions Challenge begins tonight. Yesterday, I highlighted some kids for programs to see at the event, and I'll add some names I'd like to see this weekend if I have time.

I liked what Norville brought defensively in Hamilton, Ohio, last weekend. I thought Norville did an excellent job using her length and athleticism to make plays on the defensive end of the floor. The St. Mary Catholic wing/forward is someone who I've liked on the offensive end of the floor for things other than her scoring. Norville makes the right pass, rebounds the ball, and sees the floor well for a non-point guard. I watched her play a game where she didn't score last season, but her team played their best with her on the floor. I don't often see kids like that, but Norville is a unique player.

[player_tooltip player_id='884543' first='Kiya' last='Brand']

The Crivitz guard is someone I wanted to see in New Berlin a few weeks ago, but unfortunately couldn't find the time. Brand is a do-it-all small-school kid who excelled this past season in Northeast Wisconsin. Brand is a physical guard who has carried her team's offense these past few seasons. Small-school kids like her can be challenging to judge at times throughout the high school season because there are multiple variables, but I'll carve out time to see her [program_tooltip program_id='713127' first='Wisconsin' last='Legends'] 16u team this weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='843757' first='Karina' last='Klemz']

The Arrowhead wing had a solid first season in Wisconsin and helped the Warhawks earn their second consecutive trip to the D1 State Tournament last season. Klemz is a 6'0 wing who can knock down shots from the perimeter in bunches and has had games where she stood out among some of the top players in Southeast Wisconsin. I'm eager to see her play with her new AAU team in Team Prime Nation and see how she fits into one of the most successful 2027 groups in the nation.

[player_tooltip player_id='751257' first='EllaMay' last='Cooper']

The quickness Cooper has is as explosive as you'll see. There probably won't be anyone in the event this weekend who can consistently stay in front of her. The Eau Claire Regis guard has improved in the last 12 months, become a more efficient offensive threat on all three levels, and had some standout performances with the Ramblers in her sophomore season. Cooper still has room to grow, but there is plenty to like about her game, and it says a lot about what her AAU team thinks about her playing up at the 17U EYBL level.
