The fast-paced, up-and-down Nothin But Net Classic showed us who handles full-court pressure well, who can run a set half-court offense, among other things. The guard play was elite and very fun to watch. So many gifted, confident ball handlers were in attendance. The ladies below showed poise, ball control, leadership potential, and natural playmaking instincts against talented perimeter defenders. Keep an eye on these prospects throughout the summer.    EvaMarie was lightning quick with the ball in her hands. She is lethal in transition. Very comfortable handling full-court pressure. She knows how to control the pace of the game. Very hard to stay in front of. NEXT-LEVEL quickness. EvaMarie knows how to use head fakes to her advantage. Her tight handle and speed is a deadly combination. Her hesitation moves keep defenders off-balance. She gets into the lane at will and is a nifty finisher inside. EvaMarie has everything you are looking for in a pure PG.     Shanti is a nightmare to guard off-the-bounce. Her quickness, IQ, and grit make her a very tough cover. Solid court vision with the ability to control the pace of the game. She uses her body well to draw fouls and get to the line. Shanti is a tough, strong finisher inside. Very hard to keep out of the paint. This allows her to create for herself and others. Shanti is a menace on the defensive end. She will not hesitate to pick-up full court and guard the opposing team's top guard.     If you watched Jazzy Edwards over the weekend, you would never guess she is only a 6th grader! It's the little things that stand out: execution out of a timeout, the way she plays passing lanes, her poise and ball security under pressure. Jazzy has a high basketball IQ and has clearly been coached well. VERY polished at such a young age. Jazzy lets the game come to her. She can play with the ball and off-the-ball. She never forced anything offensively. Jazzy set teammates up for nice looks inside. She takes care of the ball. She is a pure shooter with good mechanics. Jazzy has a lethal floater/tear-drop in the lane. She has a basketball frame with very long arms, which bodes well defensively. The future is bright for this up-and-coming star guard.     Alina is a fearless competitor. She can apply full-court pressure and terrorize opposing guards. Her quickness, confidence, and basketball IQ standout when evaluating her game. Alina understands how to play with other great players. She knows when to score and when to facilitate. Alina is the perfect example of a good teammate. The intangibles stand out. She is a vocal leader and is willing to do whatever it takes to win. Expect this super sophomore to take her game to new heights this summer.     Genevieve was the catalyst for her squad throughout the tourney. She reads the defense very well. Genevieve can catch fire from long-range and understands how to score and facilitate. Despite her reputation as a shooter, she contributes in nearly every facet of the game. Genevieve plays with an edge and is on the verge of having a breakout summer.     Samantha was very productive on both ends of the floor. She plays under control and is mentally ahead of her opponent at all times. Samantha's anticipation on the defensive end was truly special. She kept opposing guards flustered and read passing lanes to perfection. She plays with toughness and smarts. She has the ability to catch fire from long-range. She also has a nice floater in her arsenal. Samantha is not ball dominant whatsoever. She can make an impact offensively without needing the ball, but you trust, and perhaps prefer her to run the offense.
