We-R1 Madness Recap: 17u Standouts

She keeps the ball on a string and is a devastating slasher. Flat-out ungaurdable when her shot is falling. <strong>Charis</strong> can stop on the dime and hit the middy. She can also catch fire from long-range. <strong>Charis</strong> has the ideal body type and athleticism to guard the other team's top perimeter player. Very few weaknesses in her game. Her ability to play at her own pace and not be sped up with the ball in her hands is very valuable. She is the type of facilitator who keeps everyone involved. <strong>Brianna</strong> is a solid guard rebounder. She has potential as a defender given her long arms and quick-twitch instincts. She has the ability to get her shot off whenever she chooses. <strong>Amel</strong> keeps her head up and finds open teammates. Great outlet passer. There are times when she flat-out dominates on the defensive end. Lethal combination of quickness and length. <strong>Amel's</strong> feel for the game is impressive. Very underrated in other aspects of her game. Extremely fundamentally sound. She has the size and coordination to finish in traffic through multiple defenders. She doesn't shoot many jumpers but her shooting stroke has solid mechanics on her free throws. <strong>Taylor</strong> is an engaged defender who moves her feet and keeps active hands. She forces turnovers and is lightning quick in transition.
